Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I'm hoping Thompson gets in the race as well. He seems to be the perfect consensus candidate.

If it comes down to Giuliani vs. Clinton, et al, I'm not going to condemn anyone for voting for Giuliani, because at that point we've lost anyway. I do take issue with people claiming to be conservatives who have been pushing Giuliani for months and attacking other more conservative candidates.

You’re already a proven liar, fake, coward, and anti-freeper. Nobody takes you seriously. Why don’t you tell JR what you say about him elsewhere, coward? Are you afraid of getting what your liberals buddies have been getting? Why do you have to hide behind insulting people you don’t even know? Because you’re too much of a coward stand up to JR like a man. You’re a fake.

FR is an good sounding board & excellent forum in which to exercise political debate, but it has no influence on actual politics and/or policy at any level, whether it be local, state or national.

Actually that isn't correct. The first thing I think of is Dan Rather. Ask ol' Dan if FR doesn't make a difference.

I don’t take meds, oh brilliant, thickheaded one. Give me some more. I haven’t argued with such a liberal dolt as you in many ages.

I’m sharpening my skills for my next verbal engagement with my mother in law. She has nothing but insults to offer, just like you. It usually isn’t my verbal style, but one in a while a true mushhead comes along worth my trouble.

By the way are you still afraid for yourself and your Rudybot friends? Tell them to come out and play.

Life is a Cabaret old chum. ;)

Sang the gal in pre-Nazi Germany who was sleeping with the bi-sexual. ;)

...and had an abortion.

And a roomate who killed herself with an overdose.

B/S. An abortionist, gay rights supporting, illegal alien loving gun grabber is outright rejected by conservatives. He deserves and will receive zero support from FR. Period.

That is what I was taught too but knowing this man Rudy as I do I consider it a sin to vote for him.I say that even if it came from the top to vote for him and many of my friends feel the same way.He is not acceptable.

Why so sarcastic and obtuse?

My point was that I've held that opinion on the cause/effect consequences of abortion/immigration for years and have posted it in here.

In no way did I try to take credit for showcasing the argument.

I'll let the readers determine who's been out of line here.

But do try to get control, please. I'm getting embarrassed for you. Seriously, I am.

“Think about what Hillary AND a Rat run Congress will do to our troops.

Another Clinton in the Whitehouse is unthinkable!”

But at what cost do we lose our values?

If we compromise to keep them out, with someone that adhere’s to many of their same policies, what have we won?

Time to change Congress with the ‘next’ vote?

Sometimes the right thing to do isn’t always the easiest.

I understand your anxiety because of your son serving, and I would be anxious as well if one of my daughters was there, but we must reach a point where enough is enough. No matter how hard the sacrifice may seem.

It’s never easy to make a decision when you are staring down the barrel of a gun. But making the wrong decision will only postpone the inevitable.

IMHO if Rudy makes it too the whitehouse, then the GOP may aw well just join the Democrats as one big party, because the fight will be gone out of them.

I know you will disagree, but I’m just not willing to compromise my Conservative principals any longer.

Besides, at my age, ‘any longer’ may be a lot short than I think.

:0)

I can understand not settling on which of the conservative candidates to support, but surely you can rule out an admitted abortionist liberal. What's that all about?

Jim, I don't know why I have to rule out anyone today. I don't know why you have to, either. Rudy has some glaring weaknesses which have hardly been overlooked at this forum. He also has some strengths.

You can rule him out for saying that it's a woman's right to choose, but that's actually currently the law. Stating a fact shouldn't be a crime.

I'm not on this thread to defend Rudy, because he's not my candidate. There are a lot of things about him that trouble me.

But if you allow the forum to self-destruct over his candidacy, I won't be happy. I'm not happy right now, to be honest.

There's no reason this forum should be blowing up over the November 2008 election in April of 2007.

Nobody is questioning this forum's commitment to conservative values, and certainly not me. I have always said that I'll support the most conservative credible candidate available in the primary and then choose the lesser of two evils in the general, because I've never found a candidate that agrees with me 100% on everything in life.

I don't even agree with some of the posts I made four years ago.

It's your forum, and if we all have to come out against Rudy right now in order to keep our posting privileges, just say so. I'll think about it, but I don't know. I'm not for him, and I'm not against him. I don't know why I should make that decision this month.

Are you stepping up to the plate to be the next banned liberal, or are you too cowardly to take it that far?

Don't you ever stop?

And long overdue it is. This forum has been a tool of the GOP long enough. PURGE! PURGE! PURGE!

I am PRAYING that Rudy doesn't make it to the White House.

And I am praying that a candidate who is pro-life and pro-national security emerges in the coming months.

We would be better as a forum if we would join together in prayer and hard work and cut out the massacre of others who see things in a very slightly different light.

I VERY much appreciate this conversation with you, Bigh. Thank you!

> I disagree strongly with those who support Rudy, but I also disagree with wholesale character assassination.

I believe the only answer is more speech unless it is factually incorrect or personal attack.

Not sure what Peach said was a hanging offense, but hey I don’t own this forum. This debate as we are having now is a tough one. It’s about the future of the conservative movement. I expect it to get heated. I’m saddened that long time members are getting booted.

I do know that I continue to draw strength from the forum, especially as I am trapped in liberal land.
