Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Call a thread cop! Sorry if I’m running low on respect, but when Jimbo calls old Quidy an “asswipe”, he forfeits the game.

Making ridiculous nazi comparisons is nothing to be proud of either. What was that about leaving the hyperbolic comments to the liberals?

Federally funded abortion is every bit as socialistic as is federally funded health care, federally funded welfare, social security, etc, etc.

Socialism.

Jim the City of New York has been a festering sewer of modern day socialism for the better part of a century. Anyone with two functioning brain cells to rub together knows that.

Giuliani is just the latest face plastered onto the Rockefeller "Us To Just Not So Fast" wing of the party. They've never met a conservative they actually liked, let alone an actual conservative principle they would support.

Rudy doesn't know anything but socialism. It's in his blood.

He wants to spend taxpayer money on abortions.

He wants to spend taxpayer money on illegal immigrants for reasons other than incarcerating them long enough to turn them over for deportation.

He wants the Federal Government to restrict my right to keep and bear arms.

He wants the Federal Government to regulate my political speech.

Yet when Rudy finds it desirable, he blatantly ignores a USSC ruling he disagrees with. Wouldn't you like to be able to ignore Court rulings you disagree with?

I know there's a few dozen I'd like to ignore.

If Rudy were the Dem front runner nearly every single poster on this board would be excoriating him for being and screaming to the skies to expose him for the rank socialist he so obviously is.

The only ones who would stick up for him would be the usual instantly indentified, targeted, and fried trolls.

And I don't mean to seem impertinent, but I really dislike the term 'federally funded'. The Feds don't fund jack. We do.

Thanks.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled flame war.

We can all badmouth Giuliani enough on his policies without accusing him of something he’s not.

Yeah, we were all lying about Rudy. His pro-abortion statements, speaking alongside Chuck Schumer to Handgun Control, supporting homosexual rights...just wild-eyed, right-wing accusations from the VRWC. We were wrong, he's actually a conservative. (GUFFAWS)

I don't understand why we won't let the primary process play out like it has for a couple hundred years. It is wonderful to oppose Rudy. Or McCain, of Hunter, or whoever the hell we want to oppose. Somebody please explain to me why conservatives, or even conservatives at this forum, have to be in agreement about a candidate before the first debate, much less the first primary election.

The difference is that with the Internet and the research skills that FReepers are famous for, we're able to quickly dig up information that we pretty inaccessible years ago. FReepers quickly realized that Giuliani was the most liberal Republican presidential candidate ever and we saw precisely how he was trying to hijack the Republican Party. That has to be stopped. I haven't been this passionate about an election because we've never had such a damned liberal running, let alone emerging as the front runner.

There have been quite a few reasonable, intelligent posters here who support Giuliani’s candidacy. I can’t imagine any circumstance under which I’d vote for him, but those who focus on his “preferability” — no matter how marginal — over a radical leftist Democrat candidate usually have a far better case to make than those who get on here and pretend that Giuliani is somehow “conservative” in any real sense of the word.

I certainly don’t agree with a fair collection of Peach’s comments, but your dancing on her grave is not only incredibly immature, your post degrades the value of this forum.

Oh for gawdsakes. It's not like she's REALLY dead.

And my inbox is almost overflowing with 'LOLs' and 'ROFLs' so maybe you need to 'Lighten Up Francis'?
