Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Since when did a woman's *choice* become a right? It's total brainwashing that a woman's choice is more important than a human life. At that rate, you should be able to justify murder of any kind at any stage in a person's life.

It's not just a pregnancy as if it were a thing. That's a real live human being that we're talking about and I fail to see how anyone with a shred of conscience can defend burning it alive, ripping it limb from limb, sucking it apart, or sucking it's brains out and crushing its skull.

Anyone who did it to a born human would be considered an inhuman monster. Why is it OK to do it to a preborn human? It's not like clipping off a hangnail or something.

No wounds here but it is his attempt that will not be forgotten.

“WALLACE: What about civil unions?

THOMPSON: I think that that ought to be left up to the states. I personally do not think that that is a good idea, but I believe in many of these cases where there’s real dispute in the country, these things are not going to be ever resolved.

People are going to have different ideas. That’s why we have states. We ought to give great leeway to states and not have the federal government and not have the Supreme Court of the United States making social policy that’s contrary to the traditions of this country and changing that overnight. And that’s what’s happened in a lot of these areas.”

Republicans are pro family, pro decency, pro God, pro life, and against abortion, gay marriage and the gay agenda. It’s in the official party platform and your Republican president champions the cause. Since you are so ignorant of the party standard, you might want to read up on the subject. And while your at it, contrast it to the Democrat platform. I think you’ll find it right up your ally and you should seriously think about changing your party affiliation.
Thanks

You're mistaken,dmw.

Howlin is a Fred Thompson supporter and she and Jellybean have set up a ping list for Fred.

There is nothing on her home page to indicate anything to the contrary.

A few of her good buddies have been banned, and I would guess she feels down about that, as we all do when our friends get zotted....Be fair..

"Naive" is kind..thanks for the civil discourse. I accept him at his word as to the kind of judges he would appoint..with a Dem..you know what you will get..so, who's naive now? There are some supporting Rudy who have veru strong, conservative, pro-life credentials...are you suggetsing that they have all drunk the Kool-Aid together?

Here's another thought for you to ponder, and perhaps reply to...show me a candidate..Hunter, Fred...etc, who meets your criteria...I'll happily support that person, both in time and $$$, if/when he can gain some traction in the polls and in fundraising..instead of tearing down, you should be focused on building up someone who can win..

“I’m done. I’m sticking to my own threads and hoping this will blow over.”

So you are asked to explain yourself, and the best you can say is “I’m done”.

Is your ‘embarrassment’ because you are considering supporting ‘liberal’ Rudy, and your ‘shame’ for even considering it.

If you intend to be ‘silent’ then my assumption would be ‘yes’.

If not, then maybe further explanation will clear the air.

But if your ‘embarrassment’ and ‘shame’ is because I REFUSE to compromise my principals and vote for ‘liberal’ Rudy, then you are waisting your time.

Neither you or ANYONE on this site will convince me that the road back to true ‘conservatism’ is through a person who is only ‘slightly left’ of Hillary Clinton.

So which is it?

My point was that the site that shall not be named is simply a convenient forum where they can stay in touch and debate current events and issues...just like FR. It is not an anti FR site.

FR isn't a chat site for people to "stay in touch" and "debate current events and issues". Again, go read the front page with the mission statement and see what it is all about. Read also Jim Robinson's recent statements on the matter.

I notice that the word "conservative" occurs nowhere in the "Our Principles" or mission statement of the site that you joined on 15 March. That's the key difference that maybe so many have missed. Free Republic is a conservative forum dedicated to advancing conservatism, conservative candidates, and conservative causes.

I didn’t realise so many people said they would vote for Hillary over McCain. Some people really dislike McCain.

No, I don't dislike John McCain, I despise him because of the type of politician he is. He is simply about power and will sell whoever and whatever principle or cause down the river to obtain it. He is a man of relative principles.

Hillary is a known quantity. Marxist / Socialist to the core. We know what she is and why.

McCain on the other hand has sold the conservatives down th e river so often and so willingly, he simply deserves scorn

Plus giving a man like McCain the most powerful job in the world is like giving a alcoholic a free pass to the Jack Daniels Brewery.

I would actually never vote for Hillary, but would actively work against McCain

"People here are not only against gay rights, they just plain don’t like gay people. Am I wrong?"

You are wrong -you have been brainwashed by the left...

To prove it -an answer to one simple question -- WHAT one and only thing objectively defines/differentiates a "gay" person from a "non-gay" person... The sexual activity that either may choose to engage in...

Knowing the answer to the question THEN ask yourself if any rights or priveleges should be merited from society because someone chooses to engage in an unhealthy and intrinsically disordered sexual activity that has no possibility of benefiting society (e.g. creating children)...

in a nutshell -it is not about people --IT is about chosen behaviors...
