That’s a very good sign. Now if he’ll state his opposition to globalism, specifically the SPP and the North American Union, I’ll support him.

Fred Thompson is our real life "Obi Wan Kanobe".
I hope he does whats best for us all and joins the race, however at a reasonable time before the elections and not too early as the rest have.

Now if hell state his opposition to globalism, specifically the SPP and the North American Union...Yup... so far, Hunter is the only one I've seen even talking about it. Thompson has a lot of 'fleshing-out' to do... if/when he announces.

I am not enthused about this.
Fair tax is not the way to go....
FLAT TAX is....17% income tax...everyone, no loopholes.

FLAT TAX is....17% income tax...everyone, no loopholes.
The Flat Tax also retains the oppressive IRS and its 67,000+ page tax code. The Fair Tax will also eliminate loopholes and abolish the IRS.

FLAT TAX is....17% income tax...everyone, no loopholes.Flat income tax does not capture tax revenues from those who do not report income or produces. Not everyone produces, yet everyone consumes. Fair Tax is a consumption tax, capturing EVERYONE into the tax code.

I am not enthused about this. Fair tax is not the way to go.... FLAT TAX is....17% income tax...everyone, no loopholes. Anyone who supports yet another income tax just hasn't wrapped their mind around the sheer government intrusiveness of an income tax. As long as we have ANY income tax we are in danger of returning to just where we are now, or worse.
We need to end the governments fasination with what we earn, they have no business knowing what we make, or telling us how much money we can carry around with us, or making us pay a fee on what we earn. We need to repeal the income tax amendment(#16)and initiate tariffs or the fair tax or it's equivalent, it is the only viable solution. Flat tax is simply another income tax with all it's inherent supressions and sapping of freedom.

17% income tax...Sadly enough THAT is a rate that would generate a celebration of achievement in reduction!
Only if it weren't allowed to be augmented by surcharges to take up the slack via other labels such as "surcharges" and "users fee's".

Yeah, Yeah, Absolutely, Good to see you ???
THAT IS NO ANSWER !!
Goodness me.... He could claim later he was talking to someone else in the crowd. Until he says in Plain English AND in his Printed Direct Mail “I SUPPORT THE FAIR TAX”.
Yer Dreaming or Projecting hopes.
Besides, Bush said the same thing and was Governor of the 9th Largest Economy in the world which is funded BY a Sales Tax and NO Income Tax and he hasn’t done JACK about it.
Fred didn’t even KNOW what this was last week and today we get this 2 second quip?
Romney is more convincing IMHO !
Oh and just in case anyone didn’t get that last line...

Well, I hate to be the wet blanket, I'm not even certain Fred was answering the FairTax question when he said "Yeah, absolutely."
I'm pro-Fred and pro-FairTax, but I'm not entirely convinced this was an actual endorsement.
