What’s the big deal? That’s only twenty pints a day. In my younger days when I went on vacations with the buddies, we did twenty plus beers a day for a week...AT LEAST! Probably more like 36 beers a day. Translated into pints, thats 24 pints per day for 7 days. And that’s on the conservative side.
I remember an island in lake erie called South Bass Island. I used to go there every year for what they called their “new years eve party”. It was in the fall and it was the last week before they shut the island down for winter. We used to go there and drink every day from 10AM until 3AM(or was it 2AM, hard to remember). That’s 17 hours of heavy drinking in a bar and about 5 hours of sleeping. We were still a little drunk in the morning when we got up.
When that trip was over, you were addicted to alcohol in every sense of the word. It took effort to get over it. I always made myself abstain from all forms of alcohol for 2 weeks after just to make sure I wouldn’t become one of those people that had to have a snort at breakfast every morning.
Of course they do! Havn’t you ever heard of a tall boy? That’s a pint!
I should tell you about the time Eaker & I were building a deer stand for my dad.
This was of course in August, and we started early.
We had with us a big cooler in which was stored beer, water & gatorade.
It got hot quick, what with chasing snakes off the site and everything
so we had put a dent in the gatorade and water.
Along about 10:00 AM my dad drives out from the camp (wherein
was stored mucho gatorade and water, not to mention air conditioning)
to make a tactical assessment of the deer stand. He found it lacking
and drank some water. He found more flaws and drank some gatorade.
He made a few helpful comments and grabbed the last of the water for the
road as he headed back to camp for a nap.
We were left with nothing but beer to drink in 110-125 degree
temperatures. The stand turned out wonderfully but I'm surprised
we are not currently being ruled by the Koreans if dad's leadership
style was the norm during that conflict.
I make beer that glows in the dark so I don’t fall down going back to the house .............

I guess that woulda evened things out.
So that deer stand was all tongue and groove.......;o)
And bailing wire, stainless tie wraps, lag bolts, gravity couplings...
Good God. If 15 pints a day won’t do it, how do people end up needing new livers?
Once ... in the wilds of Afghanistan, I lost my corkscrew, and we were forced to live on nothing but food and water for days.-- W.C. Fields
The comments below the article are enlightening too. The libertarian in me enjoyed them.
OMG... quit it! Just stop it!
I'd rather see my brother into drugs or rehab than...
management. The family might survive a junkie, but ... management? We've survived the abject embarassment of lawyers, engineers, archetects, Good Lord, even public school teachers! ...
or architects for that matter.
The UK has great beer on tap. Fresh unpasteurized beer such as Harp and Guinness. I could easily drink 60 pints of this but not in four days
Steel mill workers used to easily put away a case per day. Much of this was simply water replenishment after sweating at the job all day
1 imperial pint = 20 British fluid ounces = about 19 American fluid ounces.
Something else the taxpayer gets to cough up for under socialized medicine. “Domestic Crisis” coverage.
I recall a long bye-bye thread about that time. Something someone had done had been offensive to him, though I don’t recall the specifics. Too bad, actually, I enjoyed reading his stuff.
Besides, he was the only guy on the site I could rib when Manchester United won.
There is some relatively high quality applejack. There is some very inexpensive calvados.
The best applejack is not nearly as good as the best calvados, but there is a lot of calvados that is no better than applejack.
