You seem to have absorbed the MSM line about Fred. He HAS been campaigning, since the day he announced. Some newspaper claimed he was taking the week off after announcing, and that got the "Fred is lazy" ball rolling. In fact, he went to several events that week, and has been doing so ever since.
One reason Huckabee grabbed so much attention is because the 'religious' voters felt their needs weren't being met by the other top tier candidates, especially when Fred announced that he wasn't a regular churchgoer. Huckabee looked good to them because he's a preacher. I think some of them are beginning to realize that talking about Jesus a lot in your campaign doesn't substitute for being right on other issues such as terrorism, illegal immigration, the economy, etc. His being a Christian won't affect policy in this country, because he's not a dictator. His beliefs may shape his stand on the issues, as it does with the other Republican candidates, but none can dictate policy based on their beliefs.
Hmmm Wednesday morning, ouch. Got to go though, I mean that is only a block from where I work.

No, I’m talking about him getting in so late. The peak of his popularity was around July 4th. If he would have announced shortly after that, he could have capitalized on it. Instead, waiting until after labor day fizzled the excitement about him. He also could have participated in more debates and been sharper sooner. Its like a football player not playing for a while. He may be in great shape, but he’s not in game shape. Well, Fred wasn’t in game shape when it came to campaigning and debating. He did not impress at his earliest debates and this coming from one of his supporters. He has just rounded into form IMHO and I fear it may be too late. I hope not. If he can get into third place in Iowa with about 15% or more, I think that would be great. He could slingshot into New Hampshire. If he could get second place there, I think it would set him up well to take South Carolina. At least thats the game plan I’m looking at. If he could knock Huckabee out of the race there, he could set himself up as the conservative alternative to fast fading Rudy.
If we can reduce CO2 WITHOUT harming the economy (operative idea there) it would be a way to help a little and offset any possible impact we may have down the road. Again anything we can do that won't impact our lifestyle and economy.
Now if he was to support Gore’s toss out the whole culture to save a seal crap...

DANG! I wish he'd come to MA anywhere close to me. If he comes at all, it will likely be in Boston,and frankly, I don't want to have to fool with Boston traffic. Our primary is on Feb. 5th, and negotiating Boston parking is bad enough when the streets are clear, but it's AWFUL when there is snow everywhere!!
Clare and I went into Cambridge the other night for a concert, and found out there was NO parking at or near the Church. We arrived at 7:15, just SURE we'd be there early for the 8pm concert. We orbited the Church for 35 minutes hoping someone would leave, since there were a limited number of one and two hour parking spot, and the ones that didn't have cars in them were 3' high in snow. Most of the parking was by Permit Only, and Cambridge WILL tow you, and the public parking areas were also full, so we ended up having to park 8 blocks away, in the parking garage of a hotel downtown. Thankfully, it was not THAT cold, or that 20 min. walk would have seemed so NOT worth it. But the concert was great, even though we missed the first third of it.

If we can reduce CO2 WITHOUT harming the economy (operative idea there) it would be a way to help a little and offset any possible impact we may have down the road.

The effect of man and CO2 output is the “debate” that catches the attention though so it is lumped together. It appears that this is a natural cycle despite what Al Gore and the UN say. So I actually agree with you on that.

I try to increase my "carbon footprint" whenever and however I can as well. And the Tesla Roadster looks very cool.
Anyway, you should definitely see this film. It's extraordinarily well-done, entertaining (but sober), and interesting.
I don’t think Fred got in too late. He had professional obligations that he needed to complete, and entered the race after those were met. His entering time frame was similar to those of previous years. It just seemed so late because everyone else seemed to have jumped in as soon as the 2006 elections had ended! Yeah, there was a lot of buzz about him in the summer, and some of that cooled, but remember, MOST folks, even MOST Republican primary voters haven’t decided on a candidate. Having Fred around and about in those last couple of weeks before the Iowa Caucus vote will put him front and center in their minds, and as those who jumped for Huckabee realize what a nanny-stater he is, I think they’ll give Fred another look.
Fred will be on The Laura Ingraham Show during the second hour tomorrow morning, Tuesday. Laura’s show runs from

I don’t think Thompson is pandering to the ecotards (like that) I just think he is answering the concerns many have, thanks to those same ecotards. As a matter of fact I think it would be bad form for any politician not to mention it, just to keep the same off his ass. There are enough real issues to deal with so fighting those idiots, it would just muddy the waters more. Toss ‘em a bone, doesn’t mean you will actually do a damn thing about it since it is not our fault.
If we can take advantage of that and get some research dollars into battery tech and better fuel efficiency to get our dependence on the Middle East down, hell I’ll do a smoke free BBQ for earth day. Doesn’t mean I bought the hype, just taken a little advantage. I have seen what advances in the past few years have brought (BMW M5) most of which came from efficiency research.
