michelle malkin ^ | 27 Jul 07 | michell malkin

Will be interesting to see how he squares his endorsement now with his campaign’s criticism of Romney for supporting amnesty in July. -- Michelle Malkin

There is a link on her website to the video, I don't know how to include it.

Mitt must have promised him something should he win. Ann Coulter last night said she figures the race will end up Romney v Hillary.

Why not Fred?
This is what Michelle Malkin said today:
Three other candidates–Duncan Hunter, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul– rank higher than Thompson in Numbers USA’s assessment of the candidates’ proven records on immigration and border security (as opposed to their election-year promises).
I agree with Michelle Malkin. So does Tancredo.

Tanc appears to have bought into the mythical electability beast.

OKAY, MITT BOY. the first person in my list was DUNCAN! I don’t by Numbers USA, they compare apples and oranges.
I rate Tanc and Duncan tops, but I put Fred way ahead of Mitt, and Paul is a Kook and doesn’t count.

This question was asked of Tanc in the presser, it was about the 2nd question.
The guy asking it had interviewed Tanc several times he said.
Tanc responded that Romney had basically said the right things in their conversations with each other.

I’m was disappointed to see him support Romney.
I think Tanc’s supporters that were there seemed not excited about it either.
I was just there as an observer of the process really...

Yes, because Tom Tancredo has proven that he is easily bought off on his most important issue, just like every good conservative is really just a huckster waiting for the big payoff — except of course you.

Duncan's at the same place in the polls as Tanc. Even if everyone supporting Tanc switched to Duncan, Duncan would still be in the low single digits. Don't get me wrong, I like Duncan, but I think Tanc is trying to sway opinion toward the candidate he likes best among the top three.

Why not Fred? Same reason, though it's less extreme. Fred may still have an outside chance. However, I don't think Tanc's endorsement of Romney will really hurt Fred's chances. People who support Tanc are going to have to hold their noses to vote for Romney. They aren't likely voting for him because they like him, but because they like his closest opponents less. If Fred starts looking viable again, I think most of the people supporting Tanc will switch to Fred on their own.

Perhaps also one must factor in that Romney is now a proven, exceptionally good liar.

Romney the robot probably agreed to pay off Tancredo’s campaign debt.

Why you bunch of whiny wimps knocking one of the few conservatives that has genuine integrity. Just because he doesn’t endorse your particular candidate he’s been bought off. Low lifes.

This is December 20, 2007.

The nominee will be Rudy, Huck or Romney.

Tancredo made his pick.

Rankings are bunk. Some of the votes held against Thompson includes stuff like amnesty for Cuban refuges, which passed 99-1. Thompson did vote for some stuff like expanded foreign workers programs, but I support that too. I believe immigration is good if they are hard-working productive law-abiding people. Too many of the Mexican immigrants are drug runners and gang members and those suspected of such need to be booted out immediately with no questions asked.

Fred and even McCain are still very much in the race. Right now there are 8 people in the country (3 Dems and 5 GOPers) with roughly equivalent chances at being the next President.

Given how Mitt does business, I'm guessing some money changed hands. A little quid pro quo goes a long way.

At any rate, I'm very disappointed in Tanc. Another political whore plying his trade.
