Here's another case where the end result will be the opposite of what law enforcement claims they're setting out to accomplish.

I've come to the conclusion over the years that this is a universal truism of government claims. governments (all levels) and their agents (all levels) lie as naturally as the planets revolve around the sun.

Police Begin Fingerprinting on Traffic Stops

Meanwhile America's borders are left wide open to millions that are entering unabated.

If you want law enforcement to crack down on the illegals, they are going to have to have the tools to identify a citizen from a non citizen.

Law enforcement should secure our borders like they are paid to do, instead of waiting for 30 million illegal aliens to scatter to all points.

Of course now the politicos and law enforcement tell us it's too late, and we just can't deport these millions.

Can you say, "The fix is in".

And if you refuse? Does the cop tell you what will happen?
If the cop says: I’ll arrest you if you don’t give me a fingerprint, that’s threatening and coercion.
Does the cop says “it’s all right, you don’t have to give a fingerprint”
I’d like to know the answers. Seems to me that governments are rushing towards fascism.

What's next?? Blood samples and DNA verification for speeding tickets??

It's a distinct possibility:

Highway checkpoint asks drivers for blood, saliva

Motorists in Colorado are expressing outrage over a weekend stunt in Gilpin County, about an hour's drive west of Denver, where highway checkpoints were set up so a private organization could ask for samples of blood and saliva.

He said he and his wife were "detained" for about 15 minutes even after they protested they wanted to get home because of a sleepy child in their car.

How in the hell can you keep illegals from crossing a fenceless border without having a standing army to protect it? There’s not enough LE personal in the world to stop the invasion at the border. Get real man.

I thought that Wisconsin required you to pay traffic fines on the spot? Cops have credit card readers in the car and you pay right there or you go to jail. Why would they need your fingerprint if you’ve already paid the fine?

I still have my first one, and it, too states “not for identification purposes”. The new ones, and the ones issued since the 70s do not say that.

The standing army would be the border patrol.

Question: If they cannot stop people from entering illegally, why are they confiscating tens of thousands of dollars from my income for a job they cannot possibly do?

In addition, if they Fedgov is serious about securing our borders, why are few if any employers being prosecuted for hiring literally millions of illegal aliens? And if they are serious about protecting and securing our borders, why has Bush publicly encouraged this invasion while suggesting Americans are lazy?

You say they cannot protect and secure our borders, and the Federal Government tells us it's impossible and not practical to deport these millions...

Question: If 30 million Americans decided to stop paying their taxes because the Federal Government was not doing the job they were paid with tax dollars to do, would the Federal Government tell us it's impossible and impractical to go after 30 million Americans?

I dont think it is near as bad as you think. It is NOT an infringement of your rights. It is a method of being identified. In this age, there are allot of counterfeit driver's licenses out there, and many look very good. I have run across allot of really good ones that get passed on all the time. All this is is being identified, thats all.

Keep in mind, driving on public roadways is a State privilege, not a right. (example: Get DWI - Privilege is suspended)

In the 60's when they first started putting pictures on driver's licenses, was that a government infringement?

Do you think muslim women must show there picture on the license for identification?

Do you think people should positively identified when a traffic law is broken and the violator is stopped?

Seeing the conspiracy theory people here getting upset reminds me of the folks getting mad that people must be identified at voting polls.

Because counterfeiters make DL's and sell them fugitives, illegal aliens, ID theft crooks etc... its a step up in technology to combat them. People dont get upset with increases in technology unless police officers are using them to fight crime for some reason. You should be glad, it will get a little more ID theft crooks, fugitives and illegal aliens off the road.

This is a problem of socialism and ultimately fascism.

It is not a problem associated with liberty.

That would be a great place to store them until they can make the mental adjustment to peace officer, however.

Yes.

No it won't. It will just generate a lot more revenue and condition people to put up with more and more of this crap.
