Oops, didn't mean the Antarctic but rather up Alaska way.......
However the explosion of the Tambora volcano in the 1815 caused global cooling and 1816 was dubbed “the year without a summer”. In any account, Al Gore’s dogma of man made global warming is pure bunk.

Damn. Just when Algore thought he had us on the hook for those hated SUV’s, this has to pop up.

THE FACTOR contributing to Humidity turning into icecaps is a decrease in temperature.
THE FACTOR contributing to an increase or decrease in temperature is the output from the SUN.

Inactive volcanoes cause the ice to melt.
Active volcanoes cause the ice to freeze.
Global (well, it’s really local, but the word GLOBAL is scarier) WARMING and COOLING is all the fault of volcanoes.
BAN THE VOLCANOES.
Therefore, if GW® gets TOO far out of hand, we can induce one of these babies to go off - VIOLA!! - and it's COOL again!
There was an article in Science Daily regarding the action of volcanoes in Greenland and how they are responsible for most of the observed thinning of the ice.
Look, all the land and sea we live on is a thin plate of cooled rock trapped between the extremely hot sun above and the extremely hot lava below. All the continents, and all the seas, are FLOATING on a huge underlying sea of lava.
To think that when I start my SUV and head for the freeway onramp that I am actually COMPETING with all the sun’s fire and all the earth’s lava as an actual DETERMINING FACTOR in the earth’s climate is a thought that is quite beyond ludicrous.
