Something has been bothering me all week and I'm hoping someone here can make me understand. Since 2001, we've been calling the Democrats a party of surrender, anti-war, anti-troops, etc. McCain has his faults. There's no question about it. But why are people like Ann Coulter, Tammy Bruce, Michelle Malkin and many here ready to hand over control of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the future of the War on Terror, and the care of our troops to Hillary Clinton? That's what will happen if people decide to either stay home or vote for Hillary in some kind of misguided moral protest. Don't our troops deserve better than that? It's throwing them to the wolves.
Yes, I am really concerned that some fool is going to drive an atomic bomb across our souther border and mclame just doesn't give a damn.
“McCain has his faults. There’s no question about it.”
There’s nothing but bad choices left if McCain is the nominee.
Those who advocate saving the Republican party by letting the Rats have this one, have a good argument. It’s either that, or a conservative third party. Voting for Juan McAmnesty is not something I could get myself to do.
What Hillary would do to the country would not last as long as any judge she would appoint to the supreme court. We might get some middle of the road feel good judge with some of our current crop of candidates on the republican side. But nothing like the judge Hillary or Obama would appoint. We might not be able to recover from this lesson in our lifetime.
“Its the direction of the Republican Party, therefore its inevitable.”
I’ve heard the RNC didn’t like Ronald Reagan way back then, either. But conservatives stepped up their efforts, and he won (despite the RNC).
I’m not voting for open borders and amnesty because I’m losing my culture and my home to Mexico.
“McCain has his faults.”
Yes, he does, and far too many of them, which is why I won’t vote for him in the primaries.
Supreme court judges are a crap shoot no matter who appoints them.
McCain is an enemy of conservatism as is Hillary, but at least she doesn't hide it. Both will totally screw this country over if elected, and both will incur the wrath of the voter after it is all over. So who do you want the American people to hold in contempt? A Democrat? Or a Democrat wearing a Republican suit who describes himself as 'conservative'?
There is no way in hell I would ever vote for Hillary Clinton. Having said that, there is no way in hell I would vote for John McCain. The lesser of two evils is still evil, and when good decides to compromise with evil, only evil will profit.
McCain is not mentally stable. He’s a loose cannon and a liar.
4 years on John McCain will result in more deaths of U.S. military than Hitlerly or Hussein. It’s much easier to stop on enemy trying to go through you rather than one constantly flanking you and stabbing you in the back.
I just don’t buy that...McCain’s not my favorite but just visualizing Laura and W giving BACK the keys to Whitehouse to these two creatures is so unnerving and nauseating and revolting.
Besides, we know for certain liberal activist judges will be appointed byt the HUNDREDS...the military will be torn to shreds...NOT so with McCain...not to mention SCOTUS...nah...the Clintons will be spiteful and more dangerous than any RINO!
But I have to admit, McCain troubles me on several levels. Just saw a clip from the last debate, in which he expressed all this emotion about how global warming is threatening the people in Florida with hurricanes. I either have to conclude McCain believes all that nonsense, in which case he's being quite dumb, or that he just says it to pander to the envoronmental vote. I really am not sure which, but I think he believes it.
On global warming, ANWR and a few other issues I don't see how McCain could logically arrive at his positions. It causes me to question his judgment. It also makes me wonder if he can win, despite initial polls showing strength.
It still makes no sensse to sit out the election or (God forbid) vote dem. Every single McCain position that troubles me, the dems are super liberal on, plus they are liberal where he is conservative. And National security is too important to ignore.
I'm just writing all this to say I sympathize with those who really dislike McCain on several issues.
There’s ultimately only ONE issue: freedom. Everything else is derivative.
The war is about freedom. Taxes are about freedom. Not yielding to the environmental loons on Global Warming is about freedom.
On that score, McCain fails. It’s fine that he’s pro-military and pro-war, but if he had his way, the freedoms that our military is there to defend would evaporate.
A county that regulates political speech in the name of good government, that taxes its citizens into submission in the name of fairness, that maintains open borders in the name of compassion, and regulates its businesses into oblivion in the name of fictitious environmental threats isn’t worth protecting. THAT is the America John McCain wants to give us.
THAT America is best brought to us by someone who isn’t doing it in our name. Then, when the time comes, we can take the country back with no question about what set of principles took it to the brink.
Hank
Still I’ll remember,so in 2 years when the head of planned parenthood gets that seat on the supreme court, Al Qaeda Iraq is launching attacks against us from Baghdad, and taxes are through the roof to pay for socialized medicine I don’t want to hear them bitch. I won’t be in the mood, because it won’t be I told you so, it’s I’m telling you NOW.
She is also not in support of shutting down Gitmo and would support water boarding in a “nuclear ticking bomb” situation.
I am no Clinton fan by any stretch but I think she is to the right of McCain on several issues and the Republican opposition would be more effective. Electing McCain would give a message to RINO’s that the way to get elected is to become more liberal and that will be very destructive to the conservative movement and consequently the United States.
Also on illegal immigration which is a national security issue I think Hillary is to the right of McCain. McCain has really not changed his mind about amnesty and is a complete open borders guy. Hillary is actually slightly better.
Even on judges, McCain would not appoint a Roberts or Alito so Hillary would be no worse.
So Hillary is actually the more conservative candidate and we would be better off with her in the White House than John McCain. Then enough sheeple may wake up and get real conservatives back in the White House and Congress,
Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin will never vote for Hillary. Ann goes from brilliance to idiocy in one breath quite frequently. Michelle is just angry, as most of us are, that the Conservative movement is dying in the GOP.
If we were running against say Truman or JFK I’d be game, but too much is at stake now.
“I cant stand it when people play dirty. I wont vote for that creep or reward his disgusting little deal he has going with Huckabee. If it comes between McCain and Obama, I will vote for Obama. If it comes between McCain and Hillary I will stay home. Im pissed, can you tell?”
Yes, but don’t you think Hilary and Obama play dirty?
Hank, you can’t win by losing.
