it is legal, your unalienable constitutional right, to openly carry a sidearm anywhere in the United States of America

Try that in New York, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, and a hundred other cities in this country and then let us know how that "inalienable constitutional right" turns out.

Once you dig the gravel out from between your front teeth and they take off your cuffs you'll have to use both hands to call an expensive lawyer and open your wallet wide for bail money - if you're lucky enough to be allowed bail.

OC is perfectly legal in some places that you wouldn’t expect it to be. NYC and DC are two places where it isn’t currently legal.

There are countless urban legends out there about people who open carry being hassled, arrested, etc. Most of it is exactly that: legend. If you have a legal right to do something, you have a legal right to do it.

Right.

I also have a Constitutional right (1st Amendment) of freedom of speech and petition.

But as an individual, try taking out a specific ad against a federal candidate within 60 days of a federal election and afterward contemplate the size of the fine you're slapped with and how much jail time you can plead away.

You'll need deep pockets and lots of billable lawyer hours to practice those "rights".

Summer temperatures in Alaska can get into the upper 60’s and even into the 70’s, so it's way too hot to carry CCW comfortably.

LOL!!

That's cold here in the summer....

I fear you missed my point. It is perfectly legal, i.e. not against the law, to openly carry a handgun in many areas where it is not commonly practiced. If you run the ad as you state, you have broken a law. Of course it’s an unconstitutional law, but it is a law.

If people don’t want to practice a right that is perfectly legal to exercise out of some misguided fear that they’re breaking some sort of taboo, that is their prerogative. Silly, but that’s their right.

We have John McCain, the supposed Republican nominee for President of the United States of America, to thank for that.

If I was going to open carry I would go down to the local PD and sheriffs office, talk with the watch commander and ask him how many of his officers were up to date on what the OC laws is. If he didn't say 100%, then I would ask him to schedule a two minute training lesson at the beginning of each shift until the entire team was informed. Then a week later, I would start open carrying.

That ain’t going to work in most cities as it is REALLY against the law to open carry in them.

I’d like to open-carry but the laws in Texas are very specific, if it ain’t concealed it ain’t legal.

Scares the sheeple.

Sorry I clipped your sentence there, but it was that first bit that made me laugh. I'm from the Southwest US, ya see, so those temps look more like a nice cool Spring to me.

Out here, "hot" is 95 to 110 degrees.

Once in a while. Starting to see more folks in these parts (VA), doing the same. State law makes it easy (not specifically prohibited), and mandatory (if you carry at all) in establishments that serve alcohol for on premise consumption.

Open carry in general is illegal here in Florida, one of only eight states, I think, to have such a law. AFAIK, anyway.

The Smith 547 had an unusual extractor in that half moons were not needed. The extractor expanded to catch the rebated rim of the 9mm case. K-frame, roundbutt, 2 inch, and concealable.

The Ruger in the Speed-Six and SP101 are nice carry guns if you can find one.

Yep, I’ve got a 3-inch 9mm Ruger SP101 (rare as hen’s teeth), and a Ruger Blackhawk Single Action convertible that is a .38/.357 with a matched 9mm cylinder. Doesn’t need moon clips.
