Emerging from the St. Paul shadows for her star turn at the Republican National Convention, Sarah Palin didnt disappoint the thousands of delegates in the Xcel Center, who gave her a thunderous embrace after several rocky days in the national spotlight. The question remains whether her performance was enough to win over the 60 percent of the nation who say they dont know enough about her to have an opinion But by almost any measure, her performance exceeded expectations.
Giving a multi-purpose address with ease and style, Palin delivered on the promise that John McCains campaign made when they unveiled her as McCains running mate. One part introduction, one part resume-enhancer and one part attack on Barack Obama, Palins speech did something that no Republican has been able to accomplish throughout this election - energize the party.
The Alaskan governor has managed to overshadow the real star of this convention, John McCain, although not always for the better. First impressions matter, and for the past several days, Americans havent exactly seen the most positive view of the new face on the political scene. Family issues aside, a glance at Palins record has exposed some gaps between rhetoric and action and questions about her readiness for high national office. And there had been precious little positive news to counter it.

Anyone notice most of the Dems responding to the speech? They are making the same arguements they had before the speech but their moods and attitudes obviously very different. They look irritated, not sure what to say, and just not all that happy.
DNC must be late tonight getting their talking points out.

He did OK for himself under the circumstances. It just wasn't possible to say it was a bad speech. The paragraph 1, "Her speech exceeded expectations" is about as thin a compliment as you can give. Then, he managed to get to he negative stuff quickly by paragraph 3. Don't lose any sleep worrying about his job prospects.
Palin is a ratings bonanza, just like 0bama was 8 months ago. 0bama is now old news.
Gosh, CBS, do you suppose that your non-stop parroting of the Obama campaign's anti-Palin talking points might have been a factor in that?
Aw, she’s just another former Governor, another former sportscaster, from another small town.
I’m noting a dearth of Dem posters on a board that I frequent that is moderated and “balanced”.
She punked the bambi
They will be staggering around tomorrow like a mule hit between the eyes with a 2x4. But they will not be able to hide what they saw.
The DUmmies are going bonkers. There is an actual thread attacking the Palin’s because they took turns holding Trig.
Thanks to the bigoted highly partisan gutter slime propagandizing for the misnamed "Journalists" in the Establishment Media. Problem for these children is, like Pravda in the old Russia, no one but the true believers take their little spin games seriously. Yo Journalists, the way you all treated Sarah Palin the last 5 days is why you have a 30% approval rating and your industry is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Sarah will not let the spotlight go to her head fools. The "big players" just don't know the real deal when they see it.
ROTFLMAO>>>>..... oh it hurts to laugh! LMAO

Mccain’s got a tough act to follow. If he can top Palin’s speech, it should give a shot in the arm for the ticket.
Yep, the Dems and the Drive-Bys simply don't get it. They don't get Reagan, they don't get Sarah, and they don't get conservatism.
They don't understand the Fred Thompson line about taxes and the two sides of a water bucket. They have know idea what has happened in Iraq. They don't understand what's wrong with abortion and they don't get the mindset of the tyrants around the world who want to destroy us.
They ain't right.
