Charles Gibson is a smug elitist prick

I believe in hard hitting interviews. With that in mind, I decided to watch the Charles Gibson interview of Sarah Palin last night on 20/20.

What I saw was not a hard hitting interview. It was an adversarial attack. Charles Gibson was not acting as an interviewer. He was acting as a prosecutor examining what he thought was a hostile witness.

He was playing gotcha, just as Dennis Prager said he had done. He was a smug supercilious elitist.

If you want an example of hard hitting but above the belt interviewing you can look to Chris Wallace and the late Tim Russert. Gibson is not in their class. In fact, he has no class.

I'm sure he impressed his fellow leftist elitists as well as John Q. and Joan Q. Gullible-Ignoramus. But I hope that plenty of people saw through this travesty.

I should have known better better after listening to Dennis Prager yesterday, but like a glutton for punishment, I decided to give Gibson a chance.

By the way, I turned off the TV before the half-way point of the show. I didn't want to have a stroke.

Gibson got what he wanted - talking points for the leftwing's drones.

But that can't be helped. Given the left's habit of 'making up stuff' McCain/Palin would have to remain mute all thru the campaign to avoid it.

We were sitting there enjoying our breakfast this morning at a neighborhood restaurant ~ discussing Charles Gibson.

I told my wife how I'd described him several times as "Charley "Tuna" who'd encountered the Sarah "Barracuda" right here in Free Republic and some other political sites I visit.

We tried to make up a rhyme about it, but my wife told me that Charley Tuna is "nice" but Charley Gibson isn't, so maybe we shouldn't mix the two.

Later on she informed me that the couple at the table behind us seemed to want to get up and give us a piece of their minds, but the husband thought better of it and physically restrained his wife from coming around and "confronting" me.

We unfortunately never found out if they wanted to defend the Obamarama, or Charley "Tuna", or if they were maybe simply "tree huggers" or enviro-nazis. But whatever they were, the Sarah Barracuda is definitely ON THEIR MINDS.
