youtube ^ | May 23, 2008 | your man on street

Youtube title "Barack Obama, Change We Can Believe In?"

This one you may want to share, it's classic (link to youtube at bottom 10 min). You cant makeup stuff like this!

INTERVIEWING SUPPORTERS THAT HAVE JUST SEEN BARACK OBAMA LIVE AT RALLY, ASKED QUESTION "WHY ARE YOU VOTING FOR BARACK OBAMA?" A: "I love what he speaks , what he stands for. You know, Everything he say I believe in, we need the change and that's about it. we need him in the white house" Q: "If you had to convince someone to vote for Barack what would you tell them?" A :"If I had to convince someone to vote for Barack ? (DEEP THINKING HERE) I would tell them,(MORE THINKING) basically I would just tell them it's time for a change"

ANOTHER ONE A: It's time for a change, someone new in office, someone black Q The fact that he's black you like? Are you aware that he's half black? You think he might just do half stuff good? (LOL) A : No , in America, half black is still black.. Q : You think that a black person might do stuff better than a white person? A: :... I'm not saying it might be better but its different and ... Q : What is you favorite policy that Barack has? A : (THINKING) I don't know, I cant comment on that... Q : Can you name one (ONE ??? LOL) A : (THINKING) Naw I cant name one, I haven't been following ... like that"

ANOTHER ONE : A: I think Barack Obama is a breath of fresh air,and I think everything he says is really genuine and with his ideas and his policies he can make a tremendous difference in America Q: What does he stand for? A :He stand for equality, he stand for peace, you know and he stand for change, you know and I think allot of people are ready for change in this society Q One more thing, what is your favorite thing that he is going to implement?? A :The gas taxes (LOL, OBAMA PROMISED TO RAISE TAXES ON OIL AND COAL) the gas prices, gas is so expensive these days I saw a pimp catching a bus, it's getting pretty bad,

Q: What do you like about Barack Obama? A :"what she said, the whole package, because he's he's beautiful and smart like me" , Next Q : So what's his best policies you like?? A "I havent really looked at his policies,...."

#1 Was Change #2 Was free stuff from government, more than one Peggy the moocher here #3 Was "because he's black", this may have been the secret reason, in any case he's half black so maybe he's only half good ??? LOL

look, we all know that many people voting, especially libtards, have no idea why they are voting other than the guy has a D next to his name. But then again, there were those voting R because they thought Obama is a Muslim.

It’s like the Howard Stern audio where they went into the street and talked to Obama supporters and asked them which policies they liked best, but they gave them McCain policies instead of Obama policies.

Of course they were like “Oh yeah, I’m for lower taxes.”

LOL

Does anyone agree with me that passing a basic civics test, producing an ID and having a job should be requirements for voting?

Sit back now and watch the show, it’s gonna be better than anything that liberal Hollywood could produce, the local red media or the propagandist paper rags on the news stand.
This is a don’t do, “ What do you get when you let stupid college kids, throwback hippies from the 60’s, women who think thier watching and voting for American Idol or Dancing with the stars and the generational lifestyle of the disenfranchised entitlement crowd vote in an election for the highest office in the land.

I would suggest, that if you are on welfare, or any form of public assistance you don’t get a full vote. (.25 .50 .75 vote, maybe)

Why would we let the inmates run the prison?

I agree about producing an ID and GA requires you to do that. I don’t agree about the job issue though. I know a several informed people who don’t have a job at the moment. I’m mixed on the civics test. For someone my age, I’d say yes (I’m 32). But I wouldn’t expect my grandparents in their 80s to be required to do that.

Obama ran his campaign as an unabashed leftist. He promised that the government was all of your answers, no matter if they were false or conflicted each other. No one was allowed to challenge his rhetoric. He promised punishment and re-education for the capitalists. He followed the Marxist/Lenninist principals of playing the proletariat against the Bourgeois. He promised a redistribution of wealth without identifying the true recipients.
In contrast, Ronald Reagan, ran the last conservative based campaign. He touched the American People with the message of self reliance, personal responsibility and the dream of getting the government off their backs.
Although Reagan’s was the last true landslide victory in America, the point should be made that people are more likely to vote for you if you aren’t trying to reach the moderates by not offending anyone.
I will always believe that in a good hard fight with sharp contrasts between the candidates conservatism will always win out because it is the promise of personal freedom to grow and prosper.

Those members of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie who voted for Obama, believing he would usher in the Great Socialist Workers’ Paradise, are in for a big surprise when they discover that Santayana was right after all, and they’re forced to line up for toilet paper and cardboard shoes, and their meat ration doesn’t materialize because the commissars ate it all.

'Back in the day' Reagan was conservative, but plenty mainstream. If you asked a voter "Why Reagan?", he could easily give you a specific, rational answer.

Excuse me? Folks in their 80’s were required to study (and successfully pass) Government, non-revisionist History, and Civics as formal classes in ha skoo to a degree that I doubt someone your age can even imagine.

I like your suggestion. Don't eliminate the old people that are retired as most of them are still conservative.

Another reason is quite obvious but no one likes talking about it: the black population were racist in their vote, They voted ONLY for race, remember they said half black is black in their view.

I think this election has set back race relations many years instead of moving us forward. Time will tell.

Basic Civic Test? How about a basic ENGLISH test? Here in NV you can opt to make your vote in Spanish. A coworker told me one woman at the poll couldn't read any of it in either language and someone was reading it all to her and then she asked “Well who do I vote for?” These people should be allowed to vote!!! Yes an ID would be nice too. They never asked for mine.

For crying out loud, let's start with the basics -- you need a pulse to vote. And you can vote once and only once.

After those basics, you must:

  1. Own property
  2. Pass a civics test
  3. Never been convicted of a felony
  4. Vote on election day only (no early voting, unless you can prove need for an absentee ballot)
  5. Produce legally valid identification
  6. Be 25 or 30 years old (People must toil in the "real world" for a while to truly comprehend the horrendously corrosive nature of the all powerful state)

Republicans re-authorized Voting Rights Act as is, in fall 2006, which required voting places to supply ballots in foreign native language, This was one of the many sellouts that brought republicans down, 2006+2008, and guess what? The mexicans that voted in Spanish voted for Obama, big surprise!

Great video. What an inspiring leader, talking about freedom and liberty and how, if we lose freedom in the U.S., there is nowhere else on earth for people to escape to. You never hear about these ideals any more in political discourse and we are much poorer for it. Of course, in 1964 Reagan was speaking to an educated electorate that deeply cherished those ideals.

By the way, you posted an incorrect link. Here's the correct link: Ronald Reagan Speech 1964.

We stand a good chance of losing at least one of our sons when it happens. Our older son commutes to work in Manhattan; our younger son lives and works in D.C.

I pointed this out to my wife as a reason to vote against Obama; she though I was nuts. Please God, let me be wrong this time.

The good news is that they’ll get jobs. They may not be the jobs they envisioned, such as earning CEO pay for watching the Lifetime Movie Network and Oprah, but they will be jobs. Like on an assembly line in an unheated northern warehouse during winter, stitching gloves for the masses, and getting paid in vouchers good for one loaf of bread a week, or a pair of gloves.

After all, someone has to generate the wealth before it’s redistributed.

Makes sense as long as you make it “pay income taxes.” And make sure somebody it is a real net tax payment, too. I could see somebody owing $1,000 in taxes get a $1,500 EITC (ie, welfare payment). If you are sucking the government teat, you don’t vote.
