Birds Didn’t Evolve from Dinosaurs (Evos forced to invent an even older common ancestor!)
CEH ^ | June 9, 2009

June 9, 2009 — “The findings add to a growing body of evidence in the past two decades that challenge some of the most widely-held beliefs about animal evolution.”  That statement is not being made by creationists, but by science reporters describing work at Oregon State University that cast new doubt on the idea that birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs.  The main idea: their leg bones and lungs are too different.

Science Daily’s report has a diagram of the skeleton showing...

Yeah, but those aren’t scientists who reported that stuff. They just call themselves scientists.

“Frankly, there’s a lot of museum politics involved in this, a lot of careers committed to a particular point of view even if new scientific evidence raises questions,” Ruben said. In some museum displays, he said, the birds-descended-from-dinosaurs evolutionary theory has been portrayed as a largely accepted fact

Reminds me of the “fact of evolution.” People do acquire an unwarranted commitment, and it’s hard to shake them loose. The commitment to Marxism over the years, up to the present, in Europe and America is staggering, when you consider it’s inadequate foundation. Evolutionary theory reminds me more of Freudian psychology, able to explain just about everything, but predicting very little. When an evolutionary prediction is found wrong, the prediction is revised with a superior “that’s science” statement. However, being able to “explain” anything, while predicting little - with the few specific predictions often wrong - is a hallmark of metaphysics (Marxism, Freudian psychology, evolutionary theory), not science.

Pretty much Ditto. I am finding myself drawn to God’s word more and more, and am finding so many things I never saw there before! I am also convinced, if it is not too late, that the key to reviving our conservatism is to win more converts for Jesus Christ. And yet, at the same time, we shouldn’t be winning new souls to Jesus Christ for that reason, as winning souls for Christ involves a totally different rescue operation that just happens to have positive side-effects for our temporal society. Short of that, this nation is just riding on the residual momentum of our Judeo-Christian heritage...and all that that implies.

Selective reading again? Or didja miss the claim about modern birds evolving along a different path than some believe?

Disagreement among evos?

It can't be. Someone has to pay with their job....

LOL. Sorry. I'll do my best. But I'll admit right up front that tact and compassion are not my strong suits.

Actually, I suspect that you use them because they work. And if the science behind it works, then you accept that bit of science, for use of a thing is acceptance of a thing. Which reveals you to be a hypocrite. As it was you who stated, "Tell me again why so many people place so much faith in scientists?"

Much as evos like to portray creationists as hypocrites for using the technology that is result of science, it falls flat, as usual.

We have no problem with the technology that works that is based on reliable science, but that doesn't mean that all science is reliable and that it should be assumed that all science is reliable because technology is.

I am using an internet Bible that seems to be based on the RSV. Genesis states that certain things were created in a specific sequence. I am following the sequence literally. The SUN is created after the plants. http://net.bible.org/bible.php?book=Gen&chapter=1#n41

Very true.

I've been doing some research regarding the socialist influence on theological seminaries and how that has forced its way into the pulpit (largely because I'm tired of hearing socialism preached from the pulpits of the churches I visit).

Unfortunately, socialism is a large part of most theological studies these days.

I was disheartened to see so many Christians vote for Obammie the Commie knowing how anti-religion and especially anti Judeo-Christian he is because of his Marxism.

As you said, it must be “the Word” that wins over the hearts and minds. If it is the true Word and not the secularly influenced ‘word’ I think you're right, we may have a good chance of winning this country back.

Christ freed us to live productive, joyful lives.
Why would anyone want to put the shackles of oppressive government back on?

By your own version, light was created right after the heaven and earth and before the plants, so there’s no issue with the plants not having the sun.

FOr local purposes THE SUN gives us light ~ presumably to reset our calendars, but we now believe to drive photosynthesis in plants.

It's not enough that "light" exists in general, somewhere else, and we have no Sun! Plants can't live with that.

I am surprised you guys want to deviate from the science of Genesis where the writer made sure he took down notes while God spoke and it was like he heard that the water was divided by the sky, and then gathered into one place and that allowed the land to emerge, and then the plants were created and brought in from somewhere else (reflecting on the second creation story in Genesis).

Sticking with Genesis, the plants are here BEFORE the Sun.

The Sun was not necessary in Days 1-3, as God Himself said “let there be light”, right from the beginning.

Sticking with Genesis, the plants are here BEFORE the Sun.

But not before light, which we don't know how much there was at that point so it's not possible to say that there wasn't enough for plants to survive.

Yes, between the Soviet archives and the testimony of defectors, the Communists admit to infiltrating thousands of hardcore Communists into our seminaries alone. And I’m sure that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Watch a wild turkey female run and its is so obvious that birds and dinos are related.
