As I posted to MayflowerMadam on the other thread:
The purpose of THIS THREAD is to solicit SIGN IDEAS and post the most current information about this event, as it becomes available.I’ve sent emails to the Republican group as well — for verification that this is actually happening, and have not had any response...I am fairly confident that it **is** going to happen.But the Simi Valley group was not expecting to get so much attention, having planned this event since LONG before Sarah Palin's recent surprise announcement -- so they are hunkering down, and are not quite sure WHAT to do now.
Since we believe that MANY people will want to support Sarah -- and for whatever reason (i.e., the high cost and/or availability of tickets) will not be able to go to the dinner -- the L.A. Chapter is working on a way to help them still support Sarah, ANY WAY that we can.For now, the plan is for us to gather along the road at the entrance to the Reagan Library -- with AMERICAN FLAGS, and positive signs -- to show our support.
I'd love to be there, but I'll be in Rome for the first week of August. One of my cousins is getting married so I'm traveling there with my family for the event. Though I'm teaching summer courses, I found a substitute teacher to cover for me for that week.
I'm sure Sarah will do great, as usual. She is such a force in the conservative movement.
What time will everyone be gathering? I’m there!

What time will everyone be gathering?I'm personally shooting for a 2 pm arrival time, with the actual "RALLY" perhaps to start at 3 pm -- to give us time to get in place before Sarah ("Gipper 2.0") -- and the MEDIA -- arrive.I’m there!
The Gala Dinner inside starts at 6 pm, I think - with a Cocktail Reception and Tours starting at 5:30 pm.
My guess is that Governor Palin's motorcade will arrive around 5 pm, or so.

I’ll put 2:00 on my calendar, too. (Corner of Madera & Presidential?)Since August 8 is a SATURDAY, I'm now thinking about making a day of it, for anyone who wants to join me (and are NOT going inside for the $150/person Gala Dinner) for PART, or ALL of the following:See you there!
1 - Get there early (the Library opens at 10 am) -- for a short TOUR of the Library, until just after noon -- and then,I drove up to the Library this afternoon -- for some "advance recon" -- and will post the results of that trip soon.2 - Meet at the picnic tables just outside the main entrance for a "bring your own" PICNIC LUNCH from around 1 pm to 3 pm, and then finally,
3 - Gather (somewhere, to be determined) -- for a RALLY to show our support for Governor Palin, from around 3 pm to 6 pm.
Is it even confirmed that she is going. I don’t want people to jump the gun just to be disappointed. John Ziegler is attending and speaking and he said yesterday that it “appears” that Sarah is attending but she has not confirmed it herself yet
