MISSION VIEJO, Calif., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- A California lawyer who has filed a lawsuit alleging President Obama is not a natural-born U.S. citizen says she has a copy of his Kenyan birth certificate.
Orly Taitz of Mission Viejo, a leading "birther," filed a motion over the weekend for quick action on her lawsuit, The Orange County Register reported. She acknowledged the Kenyan document might be a forgery and asked U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to request verification from the Kenyan government.
"There are no ready means of authentication except by recovery of the original document," she said in her filing. "It is also apparent ... that political pressure may be brought to bear to destroy all relevant evidence, whether such evidence exists within or outside the borders of the United States of America."
Proof that Obama was born in Hawaii includes his birth certificate there, statements of Hawaiian officials and a birth notice in a Honolulu newspaper.
Taitz's document, described as a certified copy, says Obama was born Aug. 4, 1961, in a hospital in Mombasa. The document is dated Feb. 17, 1964, and stamped Republic of Kenya.
Media Matters for America, a Democratic-leaning watchdog group, says Kenya did not become a Republic until later in 1964.

Obama has left a long trail of suspicious activity. He may have attended Occidental College as Barry Soetoro and as a foreign student. This could prove that he had Indonesian citizenship.

You are correct: nothing has been proven. The "Republic of Kenya" bit may prove to be anachronistic, but no one has shown that conclusively.
The Taitz document names definite people and references specific official records. These can be checked. If the MSM could publish a story debunking the Taitz document using the vast resources available to them in Africa, I am certain that they would do so as quickly as possible --- and they haven't.

When I first saw that Ms. Taitz had this on her website, I thought it would be her undoing. When I read, however, that she filed suit to have the document verified... I realized that she is smarter than I thought.
I always knew she was brave, but this is a genius move... don’t know if it will work, but I appreciate that there is someone who is covering all the bases on this, no matter where it goes.

Yes, Orly has a great game-plan and it appears that she might “pull one out of the bag.” Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate that she possesses fits the proper timeline. It was probably prepared for presentation for the divorce of Obama’s parents in 1964.
I wonder if the same document was required during the Soetoro divorce.

One thing we can all be 100% certain of - that the Taitz document is no less authentic than the one posted by factcheck...

It's odd that no one has come forward from those years. It's like a blank page except what he himself has written about it. You'd think somebody would remember him as either Soetoro or Obama. Maybe they are afraid to come forward if there is anyone.
His name might be in the city directory in Honolulu, but I'm not sure because ours, only parents are listed, available as near complete sets in any city library for that city.
The census would be revealing but it won't be released until um 1970, we've got a ways to go, they are only at 1930 now. Now with you know who in charge of the census, well you know what I'm getting at.
Nobody has brought out any more about the draft registration that appeared on Debbie Schlussel's site AFAIC. That was interesting, could be another forgery either way.
