Should Conservatives Demand Obama's Birth Certificate?

Posted on 12/09/2009 2:28:37 PM PST by MNDude

I suppose this will be a controversial topic, but I was wondering if everyone feels it's a good idea to keep demanding to see Obama's birth certificate?

If his ratings fall enough, do you think there will be an increase in demands to see it?

Do you think continue asking for this makes people doubt the President, or to conservatives?

How important would you rate this issue compared to other things in the news (healthcare, climategate, stimulus2, etc.)?

The real question is should we honor the Constitution?

If we respect what it is, what and how it makes our country and what it will do for future generations then we should respect the laws written in it, and thus we should ask for Obamas papers.

An AOL Poll asks the question: “Do you think it’s fair to question President Obama’s citizenship?”

At 6 AM, on 12/6/09, the results were: 67% “Yes” — 33% “No” — and this is AOL, hardly a conservative website.

That’s some fringe — AOL visitors, by a factor of two-to-one, believe Obama should release his bona fides and end the controversy.

YouPolls.com has taken down their December 4th poll that asks the question, “Is Obama’s birth certificate a valid question.” Obviously, they didn’t like the respondents’ answers — 83% “Yes” — 17% “No.”

YouPolls.com is still running the one asking, “Is Obama a one term President?” — 94? “Yes — 5.7% “No” — expect that one to disappear soon.

And, as previously reported, an October 23rd item reported that three-in-ten Americans think their current head of state was not born in the United States, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. That’s almost a third of all Americans.

Now, Goddard’s Political Wire points to a new Public Policy Polling survey in Arkansas shows that only 45% of voters in the state say they believe Obama was born in this country, while 31% say they think he was not and 24% are unsure.

“Arkansas is the first of four states where we’ve polled the birther issue (Virginia, North Carolina, and Colorado were the others) and found less than half of respondents confident that Obama is a natural born citizen. The numbers are particularly dramatic among Republicans with 49% saying Obama was not born here to just 23% who grant that he was.”

“That’s the only way to stop this madness.. watch and see. The only Fu#$ing thing we have is this issue.”

You have got to be kidding me. You really think this is what centuries of refined philosophical discourse, more than two hundred years of the greatest nation on earth, people like Hayek, Buckley and Reagan, have left to conservatism.

This is the only Fu#$ing issue we have? This pathetic, delusional, reality-denying garbage that is going to convince no one of anything other than the fact that conservatism is a sad joke? That's it, huh?

Thankfully, you're wrong. But if you were right, we'd lose every election from here to kingdom come. And what's even worse, we'd deserve to lose.

I saw the poll. The most shocking thing was how many people didn't know Hawaii was part of the United States. 20 percent of those polled nationwide who thought he wasn't born here or didn't know for sure were unclear on Hawaii's statehood.

As much as I hate the birth certificate threads, I agree with you. I’m gonna make the next guy who brings Tiger Woods up, swallow a golf ball whole. You can’t escape the guy. Last night a friggin’ bartender asked me what I thought of Tiger Woods. It’s old already.

Impeachment is an impossibility. Two thirds of a senate that’s more than half Democrat? It’s not going to happen.

Well, that lead needs to be traced like yesterday. Everything leaves a trail.

It was the same with Jon Benet Ramsey a few years ago. I sat down to eat during a layover at an airport when a stranger sitting next to me asked my opinion as to who killed her. I said that it must have been either the KKK or the Mafia. If someone asked me that today, I would blame al-Quaeda.

“So this must be pursued.” “Is it a fair question.”

Not only is this a fair question, it needs to be pursued at every opportunity and continually.

It needs to be used as an opening question to doubts about Obama and his credibility.

If conservatives keep dripping this onto the MSM and liberals then at some point we can use this to open the questions about the rest of the individual records Obama is keeping secret.

If we continue to do this and do it consistantly (and I believe consistancy is a key) over a long period of time I foresee a day when it will be a headline from the MSM.

At that point, we have won.

Yeah! Some “fringe”! ( /s)

What ticks me off the most is that the conservative media ignored Obama’s eligibility. Gee! I expect the Marxist media to do that, but the conservative media? Huh?

Ann Coulter was the worst. She calls us “cranks”. She used the KKK to imply that those who doubted Obama’s eligibility were as few as those marching in a KKK parade. Gee! Again! ...Some “fringe”!.

Gee! Upholding the Constitution is so tiresome, isn't it?...and doesn't win elections. (/s)

It is no worse an idea than sitting in the corner drooling on yourself and naming your toes.

He legally holds office until proven otherwise. He acquired the certifications of everyone that was required to do so. If at some point it’s ruled otherwise, you’ll have a case, until then, it’s baseless.
