A level 3 sex offender moving into our neighborhood. I called today and asked why they were allowed to live here since there is a preschool per Mapquest map that is located .1 mile away which is about 528' and a city park at the end of this street that has to be less than 2000' which is what I read that Jessica's law prevents. I was told first that a state law passed (they didn't tell me which one?) but told me this over rode Jessica's law? I told him I didn't think a state law could over ride a federal law. Then I was told that they were sending info to the prosecutoer office to get him to vacate? Which didn't make any sense to me if what he told me first was rigth? I'm pretty upset, this guy is a class 3 and his crime was rape. What can I do? I get the feeling I was being BS'ed toget me off the phone.
From what I can see it was 2 counts of rape and he was sentenced back in June of 1990 which makes me think that is why I don’t seem tobe able to find any details on the crime.
