A question for birthers: why Mombassa?
Vanity | Me

Posted on 05/12/2010 8:47:16 AM PDT by curiosity

The origin of modern myths and legends is a side interest of mine, the birther myths among them.

Now I understand why Obama being born in Kenya made it into your belief system, despite it being physically impluasible (requiring around 5 days and five flights, most on propeller planes) and financially impossible (it would have cost about a year of her parents' combined salaries) for Stanley Ann & Obama Sr. to travel there for her to give birth. After all, Obama's Father was from Kenya, so if you are going to make up a myth about Obama being born abroad, what better place than Kenya?

Implausibilty, and even impossiblilty doesn't deter the making of myths if there is a strong emotional reason to believe them, as in this case.

What I don't understand is, of all possible places in Kenya, why make Mombassa the birthplace in your myth? If you look at the map of Kenya, it's on the other end of the country from Obama Sr.'s village, 762 miles away, which would make it a minimum 2 day train ride. Probably longer, since Kenyan trains were very fast in 1961.

I suppose you could argue that there were no hospitals in Obama's village, so they had to travel to a major city. But Nairobi was closer, and more modern.

So why Mombassa? Not only is it completely implausible; I don't see the emotional appeal. Why Mombasssa rather than his father's village? Or why Mombassa rather than Nairobi?

Help me out here, birthers. Why do you reserve this special place for Mombassa in your belief system?

Please copy and paste and send it far and wide.

It is amazing to me that 40 to 50% of the nation questions Obama’s eligibility ( despite the media blackout). That this many people know about it is entirely due to the Internet and word of mouth.

I have always believed that Obama Senior’s visa is essentially a special diplomatic visa issued to a future member of the Kenyan government sent here specifically for an education.

I have been told that being sent here to learn the skills necessary to be a part of their future government does not rise to the level of a diplomatic visa, who knew?

It is likely that Obie Sr enterd the USA with an ordinary passport and either a Student F-1 visa or Exchange Visitor J-1 visa depending on where his funding came from such as himself/family and friends or a government organization etc.

His take is Obama lost his US citizenship by the Soeteros convincing the US State Department who granted a renouncement for Jr. to become an Indonesian citizen.

Jamese, why do you persist in telling these lies?

Loaa Ka Aina Hoopulapula - DHHL requires the Certificate, p 1 Loaa Ka Aina Hoopulapula - DHHL requires the Certificate, p 2 Loaa Ka Aina Hoopulapula - DHHL requires the Certificate, p 3

p.s. -- the Fight the Smears COLB miraculously reappeared after being taken off for nearly a month.
It seems they realized they caused more suspicion trying to hide it than to just leave it alone in the first place ...

The state of Hawaii said nothing of the sort.

Yes it did. In june of 2009. You can find the statement in the Department of Health press releases for that month.

Also, I would’ve loved for someone to have laid out an intelligent, thoughtful presentation of facts with links and references. My mind could be changed in an instant.

Then look at my profile.

First, Mombasa is spelled with one “S.”

Barack Obama was born at Coast Provincial General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. If not, where?

His grandmother states she was present.

707’s existed then

Yes, but they weren't making flights to Kenya or Hawaii.

To get from Honolulu to Kenya, they would have had to make five flights:

Honolulu-San Francisco
San Francisco-Chicago
Chicago-New York
New York-London
London-Nairobi

If you were lucky, you'd **maybe** get a 707 on the Chicago-New York and New York-London flight. The rest would be prop planes.

Rollout of the first Boeing 707, May 15, 1954. Curiosity has to be the most incurious.

LOL. Do you honestly think they were making regular flights to Kenya?

You are full of it. Until around August 2009, anyone could and in fact anyone applying for Hawaii Homelands was required to submit a long form BC.

That is simply not true. They preferred the long form because it had information on the parents' birth place, but you could certainly apply using a short form if you submitted other evidence regarding your parents' origin.

Now here's a question: do you know why the Hawaii Homelands department wants to the know the parents' birthplace?

Which will rate right up there with things we will never find due to transparency.

GIGI- Garbage in Garbage Out. Their records on Obama is highly likely erroneous. The state of Hawaii is hiding behind the plausible denial of their records. They know as much as everyone else about this that there is much doubts to its authenticity. The state of Hawaii behavior on the subject is a tell tale sign of it.

All your responses were flat out wrong and display an amazing amount of ignorance about the issues (no name calling) at hand.

I can back up all my statements with facts. Which ones do you dispute? I'll be happy to supply proof.

For example, do you want proof Hawaii verified that their records show he was born in the state? Here you go:

http://hawaii.gov/health/about/pr/2009/09-063.pdf

And no, that statement was never repudiated by the DOH director's boss.

Face it, sparky, Hawaii says Obama was born in Hawaii. That's definitive in any court or before any federal agency.

Well, the state of Hawaii says he was born in Hawaii. So does his step grandmother. So do all his relatives. So I'll go with Hawaii.

His grandmother states she was present.

First of all, it's his step grandmother. Second of all, if you had bothered to listen to the entire tape, rather than just the edited version by "Bishop" McRae, you would know that she said she was present in Kenya while Obama was born in Hawaii.

She explicitly said, numerous times in the interview, that he was born in Hawaii. Go listen to the whole tape if you don't believe me.

Ok, the long form not required but the info on it was required and easiest to get from the long form.

As for requiring the parents birth place could that be because they wanted only NATURAL BORN (Hawaiian) CITIZENS to be eligible for the Hawaii Homelands scam? LOL. Actually Yes I know why and I have lived in Hawaii. Aloha
