A question for birthers: why Mombassa?

The origin of modern myths and legends is a side interest of mine, the birther myths among them.

Now I understand why Obama being born in Kenya made it into your belief system, despite it being physically impluasible (requiring around 5 days and five flights, most on propeller planes) and financially impossible (it would have cost about a year of her parents' combined salaries) for Stanley Ann & Obama Sr. to travel there for her to give birth. After all, Obama's Father was from Kenya, so if you are going to make up a myth about Obama being born abroad, what better place than Kenya?

Implausibilty, and even impossiblilty doesn't deter the making of myths if there is a strong emotional reason to believe them, as in this case.

What I don't understand is, of all possible places in Kenya, why make Mombassa the birthplace in your myth? If you look at the map of Kenya, it's on the other end of the country from Obama Sr.'s village, 762 miles away, which would make it a minimum 2 day train ride. Probably longer, since Kenyan trains were very fast in 1961.

I suppose you could argue that there were no hospitals in Obama's village, so they had to travel to a major city. But Nairobi was closer, and more modern.

So why Mombassa? Not only is it completely implausible; I don't see the emotional appeal. Why Mombasssa rather than his father's village? Or why Mombassa rather than Nairobi?

Help me out here, birthers. Why do you reserve this special place for Mombassa in your belief system?

A real BC is a treasure trove of interesting genealogical data. Mine has my mother and father's birthplaces, my father's occupation, my birth weight, number of living siblings, length of pregnancy, the date and result of my mother's test for syphilis, even the drug the doctor gave my mother to prevent ophthalmia neonatorum. And of course, the hospital and the signature of the doctor.

i have no idea where he was born. this would be the point of pushing for the long form. no speculation required. just the same demand they placed on john mccain.

another question popped up recently.

in the documentation for the cases being brought so far... 0bama has been using a social security number... issued in connecticut. why? that isn’t right. he never lived in connecticut during those years.

looks like identity theft.. which begs the next question...

The COLB is an official Hawaii document that is completely adequate for all legal proof of birth questions (it even says so on it!). The state of Hawaii has repeatedly said that it is legit.

So if we just accept the COLB as real you'll be happy, even though the COLB shows Obama isn't a Natural Born Citizen?

We don't know where that image came from. No one has stated that they obtained it from the State of Hawaii (only Obama could have), and Hawaii has refused to confirm that it was issued by them. It might be fake. And even if it were real and legally binding, it still doesn't explain the alleged president's failure to release his original BC and a pile of other hidden records.

For births abroad for one alien and one USC parent. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen are required for physical presence in the U.S. to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child.

Secton 301(g)INA, assuming the parents were married. If they weren't then the requirements are even less. I don't know what happens if the Mother isn't 19 by the time she gives birth.
