The US Army intelligence analyst, who is half British and went to school in Wales, appeared to sink into depression after a relationship break-up, saying he didn't "have anything left" and was "beyond frustrated".
In an apparent swipe at the army, he also wrote: "Bradley Manning is not a piece of equipment," and quoted a joke about "military intelligence" being an oxymoron.

No warning signs here any more than there were with the Fort Hood Shootings ... at least, none that the Military can consider
The editor of a leaks scandal sheet foams at the mouth at the US military... no, no motivation for evil acts here, none whatsoever...
So, a queer’s hissy-fit has placed our Soldiers and many others’ lives in jeapordy.
Sad but I’m not terribly surprised.
Since he most likely won’t face a firing squad for treason, hopefully a few decades in Leavenworth will help him to understand the true meaning of the word ‘despondent’.
There’s a reason that homosexuality used to be a disqualifier for a security clearance.
Indeed, and there's also a reason why homosexuality used to be clinically defined as a mental disorder.....changed in recent years not due to any research or new physiological findings but entirely due to political pressure.
I'm guessing that if an honest tally were to be made of the number of people who have needlessly died as a result of the Left's efforts to change fantasy into reality that it would be utterly breathtaking. Factor in the wars fought due to Leftist aggression and the numbers would paint an accurate picture of the worst plague ever visited upon Mankind.
Yep, the FBI was founded on that premise, by a cross dressing liberal homosexual maniac. As every other likely sin, there are no holds barred in intel, much less life & war.
0bama knows what he and his fellow travelers are doing.
He must have been raised as a Catholic.
or Muslim
Foreign religions will kill the US.
Amen to that. I met a whole lot of scary-intelligent people in and during my MI days.
Mr Manning, who is openly homosexual, began his gloomy postings on January 12, saying: "Bradley Manning didn't want this fight. Too much to lose, too fast."
(snip)
Five days later he said he was "livid" after being "lectured by ex-boyfriend", then later the same day said he was "not a piece of equipment" and was "beyond frustrated with people and society at large".
Funny how this is the first I've read that this traitorous steaming pantload is "openly homosexual". Naturally, it's in the British press. I guess this little tidbit wasn't important enough for America's Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms to report. (In fact, I'm positive they actively spiked that little piece of information.)

"Openly homosexual" - - who would've guessed?
Yeah, let's repeal "Don't ask, don't tell..."
...and replace it with, "Seek and kick out immediately."
If this guy is gay that doesn’t disqualify him from being honorably shot.
Regardless of reason/excuse/perversion/psychosis
He’s still a traitor.
This guy is not the story. The real story is: Why didn’t the Obama Whitehouse, DOJ, Pentagon, NSA, etc. lift a finger to stop the release of these papers?
I will say what many are quietly thinking, gays don't belong in the military. This don't ask, don't tell was the camel getting his nose under the tent.
You worship Wakan Tanka then?
Or maybe Quetzalcoatl? Or one of those equally-indigenous-to-the-Americas Inca cults?
Good luck with those. They may be ludicrous pagan deities, but, hey, we wouldn’t want to put home-grown American Gods out of work, would we?
So who are these quiet thinkers?
I’m pretty vocal about it myself.
Good for you! Keep it up!
Wonder how involved the Obama administration is along with members of Congress; etc in helping this guy and Wikileaks do this crime?
Mr Manning, who is openly homosexual, began his gloomy postings on January 12, saying: "Bradley Manning didn't want this fight. Too much to lose, too fast."
"to ascertain if they missed any warnings when he applied to join the US Army?"
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot?
Ah, methinks it's a little late eh morons?
As someone who worked both covert (in Nam) and overt Intelligence in the USAF (and recruited Agents Agents and Confidential Informants) as well as having done a 3 year stint in the USAF OSI and was responsible for conducting background Security Clearance Investigations, something here stinks to high heaven.
While the military (and gov't) have (or used to anyway) a tendency to over classify some information, ANYTHING to do with Agents/Sources should at the very least, be classified TOP SECRET.
Secondly, how did this lowly PFC get authorization or access to such information?
Last but not least, someone in the Army CID did a p*ss poor job vetting this a-hole not only before his enlistment but certainly during his background investigation.
There HAD TO BE many telltale signs of his philosophy/ideology as those don't usually simply manifest themselves and lead one to commit treason over a lover's spat and btw, if he was openly gay, did that not set off warning bells as far as his being a security risk as well?
And, am I missing something here as I thought the "Don't ask--don't tell" policy was in affect and openly practicing homosexuals were being discharged?
I guess we will learn more in time, but something just does not compute!!!
The major deaths/wars attributed to Christianity.
The Crusades: 1-5 million
Albigensian Crusade: 1 million
The Spanish Inquisition: 30,000-100,000
100 years war: 3 million
General religious Mayhem: 10 million
Witch hunts: 50,000-100,000
Persecution of the Waldensians: 900,000
30 years war: 7 million
Ireland: 600,000
Grand total: approximately 17.7 million
Figures taken from http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/warstat0.htm#100yrs
When you compare those numbers to the numbers associated with communism/socialism (100 million) http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/COM.ART.HTM
and those killed by abortion (2.5 BILLION) http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/letters.htm#Abor515
you can see that the “unreligious” left is truely far more dangerous to life and liberty then the “religious”.
This piglet is headed for the big house, if not the death house. If we had an AG rather than a pusillanimous PC enabler, it would be the latter.
As for his co-conspirator, the loathsome sociopath Julian Assange, there are any number of ways he could be dealt with.
If the Big 0 had the gonads for it (in some alternate universe) he could simply have the baboon shot like a dog in the street, after which the president could use his ABSOLUTE power of pardons and paroles to pardon both himself and the shooters.
Obviously, that isn’t going to happen, so it is up to private citizens or foreign operatives of some kind. As an arrogant sociopath and media beast, Assange has probably not considered that there are potential state actors other than the cowardly and possibly complicit regimes currently in power in the US, the UK, and Australia.
Afghanistan is a notoriously murky operational environment. You can step on a lot of toes when you start messing around with secret ops in that part of the world.
Whatever happens, Assange has to know that he can never have a minute of peace for the rest of his life. There are people out there who have made it their life’s mission to take him down, and down hard. Some of them know what they’re doing.
Is that gawky looking kid walking toward him on the sidewalk actually a trained assassin with a suppressed pistol in the waistband of his jogging suit? Does that Volvo parked outside his neighbor’s house conceal a bomb in the trunk? Is the cable guy really a cable guy? Is that old fart in the parking lot a former KGB agent and is there a nasty surprise in the tip of his umbrella?
I’m very glad I don’t have to think about these things.
Where is the Congressional investigation?
(They're all on the HRC take)
How is it that this person is “openly homosexual” in the U.S. Army?
Wait until they start “helping” by whispering that Manning’s treason was justified by his — fill in the blank — outrage at being able apparently to serve as an “open homosexual” even though apparently Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is supposed to preclude homosexuals from serving openly.
Just wait until Obama & Gang start arguing that Manning is not being court-martialed because he’s a traitor, it’s only a witchhunt against him because he’s gay.
Just wait until the Human Rights Campaign argues that if “gays weren’t discriminated against in the military,” gay soldiers such as Manning wouldn’t “make mistakes” such as releasing 91,000 classified documents.
There will be no congressional investigation because no one will want it to be highlighted to the American people that this soldier was “openly homosexual” and that he was “livid with his ex-boyfriend” when he set about his crime.
We need to know why people without clean psychs are being given access to this information. Same goes for the USAMRIID scientist who killed himself while under suspicion for starting the anthrax attacks. Is there a lack of understanding of how to perform a psych screen? Is there too much trust in individuals?
the little fag broke Rule .308
I’m not sure his alleged homosexuality had anything to do with this.
It is not necessary to be sure. High probability of deceitful, vengeful, and irrational retaliation is all that is required.
Certainty is a condition we can not afford
Will security measures be put in place? Will names of allies be strictly classified? Will the leak of personal information from all the staff of wiki-licks be posted on the internet including financial, medical, employment, recreational?
There’s too much political correctness. Moreover, especially when it involves any type of sexual proclivity, there is too much of a “it’s only sex, it’s only his private life” garbage that obscures the way that behavior can reflect mental status and relational style.
How about a liberal tool?
The rational for the question was simple, those engaged in demented acts were considered a blackmail threat. Today they would probably be considered a hero. My guess is the DOD is probably developing a new ribbon for meritorious behavior to accommodate those previously outed the design of which I will leave to your imagination lest I be banned.
Sending the FBI to look for the melinin defiecient one. I would be looking for a Jason Bourne type to sic on him.
I agree with the point you are making, but I do have some reservations about your numbers. The Crusades were a last ditch defensive war against an expansive Islamic empire and therefore I believe they shouldn’t be put under the Christianity column, and my second point is that your numbers for the Spanish Inquisition may hold true if you mean all Inquisitions throughout history, though I would still argue that the 100,000 number is an extremely high estimate; however, the Spanish Inquisition itself only executed approximately 3,000-5,000 and was unique in that it was under the control of Spanish Monarchy not the Papacy and though on paper it was a religious inquisition in practice it seemed to be more about consolidating political power.
Sorry about the rambling post, but I just wanted to add my two cents.
He’s on suicide watch, how can I send him some rope?
We sure won’t learn much from our media.
That particularly despicable left wing blood libel doesn't need any help on this board.
Other than scurrilous and cowardly left wing slander, there has never been any suggestion that J.Edgar Hoover was gay.
Exactly. There is absolute zero possibility, that little rump ranger had that kind of access, without any oversight. You can’t even talk on a payphone on a military base without being recorded.
Someone (probably multiple) in very high places, must have been running cover every step of the way. Even if he had clearance, there is still a little thing called “need to know”.
“Im not sure his alleged homosexuality had anything to do with this.
What about “openly homosexual” does not compute with you?
What about a spat with his ex boyfriend does not compute with you?
There’s nothing “alleged” about his homosexuality.
Homosexuality used to be considered a mental disorder for good reason but due to political pressure it is now considered a "normal" lifestyle choice along with being a bisexual, a transvestite and "transgender".
Now the fudgepackers and freaks are considered more heroic than Audie Murphy for having the "courage" to "come out".
One more step towards the abyss everyday with "commander zero" in charge.
I’m sure that the administration will argue that manning’s sexual orientation had nothing to do with this massive security faux pas just like the FT. Hood shooter’s motives for the massacre had nothing to do with his religion.
Where was counterintel on this? Military people in the intelligence field are closely monitored for their internet connections and are strongly discouraged from having social network sites or blogs. People have been kicked out for it.
...why would the Army think he was bright enough to understand that secrets must remain secret.
Give him a trial. If he is found guilty, hang him the next day from the highest tree you can find.
