Politico put pols in a tizzy last week when it suggested that Rep. John Dingell might be in trouble. The 84-year-old incumbent has held his seat since 1955...
[Robert] Steele [his Republican challenger] tells NRO, “The news doesn’t bother me in the least.” His campaign plans to start airing ads today or tomorrow; and they, he hopes, will bridge the gap in name ID. Rather, he’s more fired up about the DCCC’s website, which calls him “an ultra-wealthy doctor who made millions off the broken health care system.”
“The fat cat is John Dingell who lived in DC since he was 7 years old and who gets all his money from PACs and special interests,” Steele, a 52-year-old cardiologist from Ann Arbor. “I’ve never participated in partisan politics in my life. . . . The real reason I’m running is I just couldn’t get to be 80 years old and look back and say I didn’t try to protect [our way of life] for my kids and grandkids.”

I found a Dingell Norwood article...apparently it was another attempt, as Dingell put it, to “control the people”.

No it's not. It's actually 77 years of one family earning it's fortune off us Michigan taxpayers............Dingell's old man was elected Congressman in 1933 and Dingellee took over the job in 1955 when his old man died..........
The guy is a multi-millionaire who made his fortune solely due to his political influences and his wife who was a paid lobbyist for GM at the time they married..........
Dingell and his cheerleaders at the DCCC have some gall to call his opponent "an ultrawealthy doctor who made millions off the broken health care system." What a bigoted stereotype! How the heck do they know how much Dr. Steele has made unless the 'Rats are illegally tapping into his tax returns? And regardless of how much he made from his medical practice, he has contributed infinitely more to the benefit of the country by prolonging and improving the lives of his patients. Contrast that to Dingell and his Democrat pals who has only contributed to hampering the careers of physicians and other professionals by imposing government control over them!
And will someone please ask doddering Dingell why the health care system is so badly "broken" that he has to be a cheerleader for Obamacare, which will suck out any humanity that remains in the system at a horrendous cost to society.
As much as I’d like to see Dingel lose, I don’t see it happening.

I wholeheartedly agree with this, as well as you other points. What is sad is that class envy is very prevelent in this district, so he is just going by the standard playbook.
dingel is the one that should do a little soul searching, he’s made himself wealthy sucking off the gov’t teat for decades. While doing immeasurable HARM to the public. The state GOP must smell an upset, they normally do not do much for GOP candidates that run for the US 9TN, but this time they are actually giving her backing. Now if we can only gin up some extra funding for her like has been done for O’Donnell and Miller we might get it done. She only needs to pick up 15% of the independent and black vote to beat him. Given Memphis is 10% unemployment, more like 17% with under employment, and the blacks are beginning to scream loudly about the illegals ‘taking’ their jobs.
