Union Organizer Stephen Lerner Defends His Plan To Crash The Stock Market
Business Insider ^ | 3/25/11 | Dylan Ratigan

Last night, I interviewed the man at the center of a new swirling controversy.

Stephen Lerner, a veteran union organizer, wants collective bargaining for homeowners that owe money to the big banks.

And this week, he was caught on tape talking about a "mortgage strike" against the big banks. He suggested that a large number of homeowners stop paying their mortgage until the banks agree to negotiate and modify loans.

Glenn Beck pounced on the recording. And so did Congress. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Republican Congressman from Utah, sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder saying that Lerner's threats "clearly constitute domestic terrorism", and asked for an investigation.

I interviewed Lerner, to get his side of the story -- his first interview since being attacked by Beck. Lerner talked about the mortgage strike idea, the big banks, the Tea Party and Glenn Beck's attack, and being accused of terrorism.

"Glenn Beck and this group of people are basically shilling for Wall Street"

Jail? Hell no! Then, we’d have to pay for them. Deportation to the communist nation of their choice. Let them live under their system for a while and see how they change their tunes.

Round ‘em up and put them in a Zoo.

It would be seven kinds of awesome to watch them fling their feces at each other!

The trick comes if, in a feat akin to herding cats, all the debtors defaulted in unison. The banks would be overwhelmed. Of course such a course of action could not be recommended in good conscience.

They shouldn’t be given an option. They all should be sent to North Korea so they can celebrate “Earf Hour” every hour of every night of the year.

That treasonous A-hole should be interviewed from his prison cell...not as a free man.

What gets me is the fact that the useful idiots on the left can’t grasp the fact that the poor will be harmed the most. If they would listen to what Learner, Piven and others are saying, they would hear that harming the poor is part of the strategy.

Its why the unions here in Michigan hire the homeless at low wages to picket the businessmen who are the largest donors to the homeless shelters the picketers came from. The end result is that the businessmen will stop donating to the homeless shelters and the homeless will truly be out on the street. Then the union bosses will wag their finger in the air shouting “Look what they did to you”

It's called a contract, Stevie.

If you don't like the contract, don't sign it.

Why are these people allowed to walk the streets in a free society?

My guess is because we have not corraled them, OK? I will let you write what goes on their tombstone.

Aren’t a lot of union pension funds in the stock market? What happens to them, and the unions, if they go bye- bye?

I believe many participants in a “mortgage strike” might rethink their actions when the foreclosure notices hit the mail.

Well, let’s see here. We have a “veteran union organizer” calling for a strike. Nothing new or novel there. He’s calling for a strike among homeowners, against mortgage companies. That’s pretty novel.

Wonder what sort of union dues the leech expects to extract by virtue of becoming middeman between homeowners and mortgage companies?

I guess we’ve already sort of got that, with federal regulations and Fannie Mae. The “dues” are hidden in our tax bills.

Well there certainly has been enough greed to go around the last few years. The banks, the consumer, the politicians, the government, Wall Street, mortgage brokers, real estate sales people, it was like the roaring 20’s. Lots of money to throw around and no one was watching the back door, or excuse me, President Bush gave out a luke warm warning that Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac were getting out of hand and wanted oversite, but he didn’t push it real hard, and no one wanted to listen.Unless you were on the inside, you had no idea how deep the rabbit hole went, until the last few days of Bush’s administration. The Press is still covering up the fraud. Its easy to understand the anger out there, it has affected so many people needlessly, I have way too many friends out of work and suffering through no fault of their own. Lost business’, lost homes, these were not people that bought over their heads, they just lost income and their homes lost value as well, so they couldn’t sell them and lost them to the banks, I’m madder than Hell, but just not sure who to take out my anger on. It seems like everyone is responsible !
