Let me get this straight...she spent a good amount of time in Iraq during the insurgency and saw first hand how Muslim men treat their women, and she now claims that she had no idea how bad it really was?

While having compassion for the woman, and disdain for the savages who attacked her, one still wonders what she was doing in that situation in the first place.
Either she was being unwise, or her handlers, or both.
I feel shock and revulsion about her attack.
But it speaks volumes that someone allegedly so well educated, so sophisticated, etc. does not understand that women are treated badly in many parts of the world. Some people with liberal, politically correct world views just don’t understand the evil and shocking treatment of women, minorities, homosexuals, etc. in other parts of the world.

Normally I would say yes, but I was flying this week and grumbled at a TSA pig when they yelled at me for having a boarding pass in my pocket - they then decided I needed a TSA "massage".

She didn't know because she didn't want to know the truth about Islam.

I think she most likely viewed herself as being immune. My guess is she figured they would not attack a leftist who is sympathetic to their Anti-American views.

It’s called being disconnected from the realities that exist outside of the West. That said, I’m glad she and her crew made it home alive. Regardless of the MSM’s outrageous bias, they were serving their profession and should not be maligned for anything other being ignorant — they’re Americans. The flash mob that attacked her should have been lined up and executed.
