Buchanan: Bush Broke United States As A Superpower
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 08/29/2011 4:57:57 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Pat Buchanan regularly serves as Morning Joe's lone conservative in the show's self-described 10:1 ratio of lib to conservative guests. But Buchanan this morning demonstrated that he is anything but a Republican partisan.

Sounding more like Barney Frank after a bad night's sleep, Buchanan blasted President George W. Bush, claiming 43 "broke the Republican party and frankly he broke the United States as a superpower." View the video here.

” Only Obama appears capable of turning mionorities off to Democrats now. “

Because Republicans in D.C. are almost all COWARDS.

a Housing bubble (with the help of Democrats) that was sure to collapse

They won't let it collapse completely yet. They keep pumping air into it! Like so many other govt. scams, it's a gift that keeps on giving.

...The fact is that this Republic has been breaking apart since its formation. But, this morning I awoke for the first time in a long time optomistic. We, as a people have in the past overcome the tyranny of evil, overbearing federal government. It has taken a blatant, socialist regime to empower "one people to dissolve the political bands" once again...

...It may very well take another revolution. and loss of life. Patrick Henry said it. And Old Lodge Skins said it well, "It's a good day to die"...

...All I have to say is; I'm ready, how about you???

“Did any of the critics of liberating Iraq ever look at a map? Iraq, for which we had the political, legal and moral justifications to attack, is the strategic high ground of the Middle East. A Geographic barrier that severs ground communication between Iran and Syria apart as well as providing another front of attack in either state or into Saudi Arabia if needed.”

THE ABOVE IS MOST INTELLIGENT STATEMENT POSTED.

Counterpoint-RE the invasion of Iraq: Buchanan and Paul would say, “At least we do not have ground forces in Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere outside of the United States and we no longer need to support Israel. We will save money to build border defenses at home.”/s

Do you ever argue FACTS? Do you ever state anything besides your rather ill conceived opinions? On the subject of Bush it is you that repeatedly does nothing but opinionate. Look in the mirror my friend as you will see what you accuse.

RE :"No matter how deeply held the opinion when it is based on complete factual ignorance, it remains idiotic. Holding on to the opinion in the face of all facts, is childish."

HA-HA-HA, your claim that Democrats blocked reform in a Republican controlled HOUSE gets the award for the Worst Thought-out Lame Excuse.

Minority Republicans block Obama-care in Pelosi House?? NO!

Minority Democrats blocking Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011 in Republican House??? NO!

You might think of dropping that Defend Bush argument, it doesnt pass the 'laugh test'. Bush was promoting those things you claim he was trying to stop.

Yeah, that Shock And Awe was really limp-wristed, wasn't it?

You think this is a manhood thing?

Look -- any punk can make noise and destroy things. The measure of Bush's folly is that he either lied himself or was grossly negligent in surrounding himself with transparent liars, and having dishonored his country in this ruinous, murderous misadventure, demonstrated his contempt for truth, human life, ancient cultures, and not least, the Constitution.

You're mindlessly screaming talking points, Johnnie. Try thinking for yourself for a change.

I became disenchanted with G. W. Bush when I realized that he had no intention of enforcing U.S. immigration law. After that, I observed carefully, and it became obvious that he was a failure, in stark contrast to what I had thought previously. It had nothing to do with talking points and everything to do with evaluating the facts honestly, clearly and intelligently--and thinking for myself rather than regurgitating what others were saying. Try it some time.

You think this is a manhood thing?

No. I think the premise is that the president who ordered the action was also the president that "broke America as a superpower" and frankly I find the reality cannot be reconciled with the argument.

The measure of Bush's folly...

I need read no further. Anyone who postulates this drivel, if you will pardon me, has his head up his ass.

Have a nice day.

I’d put Bush above Franklin Roosevelt too. I think. It’s a hard call.

If anything, it was TARP and the bailouts that did the most damage.
