Herman Cain, during some go-arounds with David Gregory, concedes that his "9-9-9" plan would raise some taxes: Some people will have severe culture shock and start paying taxes while they are b!tching about those who don't pay enough.

of course, if you pay nothing you will actually be asked to pay something for a change. You know Business like GE who paid no taxes will actually have to pay something now.
Odd how so many Conservative would rather keep giving the handouts then spread the tax burden.

And so, should I believe that Politico is against a “tax hike”?
Bwahahahahahahaa.
Those loons supported the Cretin-in-Chief, and are therefore honor bound to acknowledge that they have the IQs of journalists.
Oh, forgot, they ARE journalists.

Can’t we just add Politico to the list of crap sites like KOS and others?
The headline is misleading, since Ms. Cain said some will pay MORE and some will pay LESS.

Some of the lower 50% who pay zero federal income tax will be joining the hard working to push the wagon a little instead of riding in it. Any one paying payroll tax, dividend tax, capital gains tax, AMT, death tax etc will see a tax reduction.

LOL @ the desperate lib media headline. I guess they missed the second part of the sentence.
“”Some people will pay more. But most people will pay less,”
See that second part Pollutico? Yeah, the welfare collectors/corporate welfare collectors/tax cheats and loophole finders will pay more, everyone else will pay less.

Generally, I like Cain. But this 9-9-9 thing bugs me.
It’s not the flat-rate personal or corporate income taxes.
And it’s not the idea of a sales tax.
It’s the idea of allowing the federal government to impose a tax in intra-state sales. I can’t see anything in the Constitution that authorizes it.

It is not the plan that is important, it is the chance to change the tax structure that is important. Doing away with tax deductions will cause some to pay a little move, doing away with all that tax accounting work will also save them money and time. Each item will have trade offs. But taking power from congress and cronyism is priceless.

Yes, they may pay more taxes but will also pay lower prices for stuff.
Also, when Herman Cain fixes the economy, the unemployed will get jobs and their taxes will go way up too.

...a former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza who has never held elected office...
At least it is a better description than 'a senator who has never run a business' or 'a community organizer who has never held an executive office.'

Zero-payers going to something-payers is an increase.
A very well deserved increase. If you get something from the rest of us, you have to have some skin in the game.
To: bigred08
Since 47% of Americans pay ZERO federal income taxes now, and who have trended to vote more dollars away from of the 53% who do pay taxes now toward themselves, I see this as a major plus. You want to talk about everyone ‘paying their fair share’? This is it.

You distorted the title of this article into a whopper of a lie.
The actual title of the article is “Cain acknowledges a ‘9-9-9’ tax hike,” not what you wrote, “Cain acknowledges 9-9-9 is a Tax Hike.”
Embarrassingly, the LSM got it more right than FR. Cain acknowledged that there is “a” tax hike for “some” under 999, but as he said “most will pay less.”
Your title makes all of 999 into a tax hike — i.e., it says that everybody will pay more taxes. That is not true and I’m wondering why you didn’t copy the original title as it was.
This is another reason why FR rules require the exact title, not some interpretation of or commentary on the title, in the title box.

The establishment is very very afraid of Cain and his 999 plan. It fundamentally shifts taxes much more to a flat approach and closer to choice by consumers. So they will do everything to kill his message. So far, it hasn’t worked. Thank GOD.
