WEST DES MOINES, IOWA — In our interview, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich discussed what kind of First Lady his wife Calista might be.
Gingrich is quoted in the new e-book “THE RIGHT FIGHTS BACK,” by Mike Allen and Evan Thomas, saying she would be in the Nancy Reagan mold. So that’s where we started.
What did he mean by that? I asked.
“First of all she is a very strong personality, which Nancy Reagan was,” Gingrich said. “She actually describes herself as being a cross between Nancy Reagan and Laura Bush with just a slight bit of Jackie Kennedy tossed in and I think there is, somewhere swirling in there, the model Calista would like to live up to.”

The most chilling part was about Gingrich going to meet Bill Clinton at the back door of the White House and being told “you’re a lot like me.”
You know what that means. And it wouldn’t be wrong to take it as a veiled threat, either.

Excuse me. First of all. If people look poorly on me for telling the truth than Free Republic has REALLY lowered it’s standards. We are the party of family values and this guy cheats on every wife he has had. She had sex with a married man. Last I knew, that is considered a slut. What do you call her? I am no fan of the Obamas, but I don't think that Michelle is all that bad looking, and I don't think that real men criticize any female's looks. There are such things as mirrors you know.

Well, that’s hard for me to imagine since I’m a woman. But, I’d hope I’d saaay something like, “My wife is a tireless campaigner and has exquisite taste. She will be a gracious hostess and will make the nation proud of the White House. She is my support and makes my life easy so that I can do the work that will be required of me as President.”
I would NOT start comparing her to other First Ladies as a way to polish up her image.
