"Mr. Beck, if I may?"

Dear Glenn,

You have perhaps no bigger fan of your philosophy, nor a more eager consumer of your many books, broadcasts and events, than me. One of the more memorable events in my life was attending your Restoring Honor rally in Washington, D.C., and sharing breakfast with you, several hundred supporters and Gov. Sarah Palin, in support of the Special Operations Warrior Fund. Never will I forget hearing you announce, "Ladies and gentleman, security just notified me that we should all go soon, because the crowd is already filled beyond the reflecting pool." Thank you for the greatness of your vision and the amazing courage of your convictions.

He is not any better this morning. Seems to be doubling down on the the "I am right, and I'm pissed that you questioned me" thing. He gets really upset when people even suggest that he may be headed in a nonproductive direction. The lady yesterday did just that and he was so rude.

I loved it when he did that to the liberals..doing this to his fans (more specifically his pool of free information and contributors), well..it's not so great...and kind of dumb.

I seek a political Spartacus, one willing to wrap his clenched fists in gasoline soaked cloth, dip both hands in broken glass and once set ablaze, fight like hell to restore America with an intensity equal to the deep love I feel for my beloved wife and two precious daughters.

What a great line, however, appealing to Beck to become rational is wasting your breath.

Glenn Beck, once one of my favorite people, especially on the mall in DC, has had something go wrong in his brain.

This is a real mental disease that Glenn has developed.

You used to be able to discuss rational viewpoints with Beck, now he goes into a screaming rage.

When his back was hurt a couple of days ago, and Stu and Pat ran the show, I could listen to the whole thing.

When Beck is there, I can barely stand 15 minutes before I turn off Beck and go to quiet music.

The only thing left to do for Beck is pray, he is beyond reason.

You have expressed many of my feelings as well. I am a longtime listener to Glenn's radio program and I subscribe to his GBTV network. Lately, I have found it increasingly difficult to listen to his extended rants against Newt Gingrich - not because I think Newt lacks risks and problems as a candidate, but due to the disproportionate nature of Beck's responses to him.

There is something deeply personal about Beck's distaste for Gingrich and I think he is being (uncharacteristically) dishonest in avoiding the source of his dislike for the man. Mitt Romney is clearly and by any reasonable measure far more of a liberal Progressive than Newt, and yet, Beck continues to claim otherwise for reasons about which he is not coming clean with his audience - and which they deserve to hear.

Outstanding! One of the best posts I’ve read on FreeRepublic, and I’ve been here a long time.

Mitt is the mormon. For Beck, that trumps all else.

You're a big boy. Stand up for yourself. Pick your own battles. Don't piggy back on mine. I didn't mention Beck's religion nor did I mention Mitt Romney,

I'm loathed to point this out but the little incidence where he acted like he was so angry he wanted to punch a family member if they picked Newt and he actually made a punching gesture..that was a little much as well.

I think that happened on Monday's 5PM show. I blew it off at the time because I knew he had been in pain last week and maybe on medications..but this is an important act. Our friend Glenn needs to be reigned in again..I'm afraid.

BTW..they are having Ann Mitt Coulter on today..they should collectively T-off everyone here..male and female.

He lost 3 of us a few months back. He's no longer funny he's rude and condescending just like Obama. If you disagree with him you're stupid or worse, evil.

I hear you, but Glenn is too much of a national treasure for our nation to miss his crucial teachings.

I. for one, have gotten along quite well with an absolute minimum of attention paide to GB.

Nice writing, btw.

And, AND, I do believe Mormons have this “destiny” kind of thing going, that only Mormons can fulfill... and beyond that, I honestly believe they work toward it from both political parties...

Follow the money.

Although I think the Mormon connection (which is likely a money connection as well) is part of it; and Beck may have fallen off the wagon.

Whatever the reason or justification, his actions now will undermine his past performances, where he educated the public about Alinsky, Cloward-Piven, etc.

Like him or not, he was a leading voice in the rise of the Tea Party movement. While you might disagree with his current politics, at least take his criticisms of Gingrich as a reminder that none of these candidates are perfect and we, as supporters or detractors, have to continue to question them. When a majority simply take a candidate's words at face value, we end up with a disastrous nominee and/or President, such as our current CIC.

Indeed, Glenn has become a high school hallway version of Bill O'Reilly.

Yup. It's sad actually. Glenn Beck has the smarts and the talent or at least at one time he did. It seems nowadays, Glenn Beck and Pat Gray have to mock, ridicule and bully people to present their perspective.

Incidentally, I find their reliance on Yoda like Star Wars material "limited" and now tedious. They both need some new material, real bad. I continue to regularly listen to his radio show, for the time being.

There is nothing Rational about what you are saying. This post is about Beck not Newt. Beck is sliding down a spiral of mental illness. We who see this everyday understand what is happening to him. Beck has a problem, he should not be taken seriously.
