The DHS IG has told Congressional staffers it expects to have a final report ready to deliver to Congress in early October.

The Justice Department IG has been investigating the case at Attorney General Eric Holder's request since Feb. 2011. No timetable has been given for release of a final report.

Things that make you go Hmmmmm Hmmmmmmm Hmmmmmmmmmm …

Is this “investigation” even reliable, or is it just another level of obfuscation to delay or deny ANY facts in the matter?

There is, of course, another part of the agenda that has to be defended at all costs, and that is further legislation to keep the possession and bearing of arms at the very minimum possible, if the Second Amendment cannot be repealed outright.

There never was a first. I remember distinctly when Issa asked to see Holder's written instructions to his IG. He said there were no written orders. The IG took his verbal assignment as seriously as it was intended.

‘Capture the big fish in the barrel’ WITHOUT TRACING THE WEAPONS???.. My AZZ. The purpose was to raise the percentage of weapons in Mexico that come from the U.S. to “90%”.. Obama even stated this goal early on when he made the UNTRUE claim that “90% of guns in Mexico come from the United States”.. He said it because the U.S. was working on making that percentage become a reality with ‘Fast & Furious’. Why raise the percentage? So Obama could justify FFL gun restrictions leading to gun control and eventually gun bans in the United States.

I’d suggest that Congress pack up what info they have...ship to the Mexican prosecutor, and just let them start prosecuting folks from there. That’s about the only way that justice can be achieved in this situation.

As for the guys who get Mexican warrants? Well....too bad. You should have been thinking about the consequences, and plainly working with American justice.

Don’t forget the Washington Post was part of Fast & Furious.

The ATF gave them the story that certain dealers were the primary source for the “iron river” of firearms flowing into Mexico.

The Washington Post ran the story without corroborating a single fact or asking to speak to one dealer.....in other words, they just printed what the ATF told them to print.

Nobody (except the dealers) challenged the Washington Post on the story.

This was a test run to see if the public would accept the premise. It was a success.

If it were not for the murder of Brian Terry, we would be fighting for our Second Amendment lives right now!

ATF takes aim at deep 'Iron river of guns' USA Today

USA Today also engaged in that journalistic malpractice and sedition. We should also remember just how big their lie is...

Mexico's Gun Supply and the 90 Percent Myth - Stratfor Global Intelligence; Feb., 10, 2011

As we discussed in a previous analysis, the 90 percent number was derived from a June 2009 U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) report to Congress on U.S. efforts to combat arms trafficking to Mexico (see external link).

According to the GAO report, some 30,000 firearms were seized from criminals by Mexican authorities in 2008. Of these 30,000 firearms, information pertaining to 7,200 of them (24 percent) was submitted to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for tracing. Of these 7,200 guns, only about 4,000 could be traced by the ATF, and of these 4,000, some 3,480 (87 percent) were shown to have come from the United States.

This means that the 87 percent figure relates to the number of weapons submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF that could be successfully traced and not from the total number of weapons seized by Mexican authorities or even from the total number of weapons submitted to the ATF for tracing. In fact, the 3,480 guns positively traced to the United States equals less than 12 percent of the total arms seized in Mexico in 2008 and less than 48 percent of all those submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF for tracing. This means that almost 90 percent of the guns seized in Mexico in 2008 were not traced back to the United States.

---------------------------------------------

ATF Publishes Misleading Trace Data From Mexico Katie Pavlich; April 27,2012

Yesterday afternoon, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms released firearms tracing data to the press from Mexico between the years 2007-2011 during a roundtable discussion and presentation given by ATF Special Agent John Hageman.

(snip)

The majority of the sales linked back to the U.S. according to this trace data, actually come from government to government sales, not from normal sales made in American gun shops.

(snip)

“ATF isn’t making a determination on how people view our data,” ATF Special Agent John Hageman said.

Or are they? ATF uses these numbers to justify its new long gun reporting measures. The new measures were implemented last summer and require border state gun dealers to report multiple sales of semi-automatic rifles.

Nothing has changed. The FedMob is still pushing the lie.

Tell me how Withholder is going to investigate himself. It ain’t gonna happen. Same with Big Sis. Obama hand picked this crowd and has turned these agencies into a laughing stock with ZERO CREDIBILITY. November can’t come soon enough.

>>If it were not for the murder of Brian Terry, we would be fighting for our Second Amendment lives right now!

On a related note, there was a news item this week about the Michigan Hutaree Militia’s firearms being returned to them. That prosecution started in 2010, so the investigation probably started in 2009, about the same time as F&F really got going. I have to think that the Hutaree case was a complimentary effort with F&F to gin up support for 2A infringements.
