Hello. My name is Fred Garvin-MP. I recently watched the Maricopa County Sheriff Department's press conference. It was intriguing to say the least. What caught my attention were the coding numbers on the document put on the White House server for all Americans to see. The code #9 was the essential 'nail in the coffin' that confirmed the PDF version of the birth certificate was a 'definite' forgery.
Now two pro Obama websites claim that lead Investigator Mike Zullo used the meaning of code #9 from a 1969 Vital Statistics Instruction Manual instead of a manual from 1961. Is this true? One meaning for code #9 is different that the other code #9 and that is giving Obama supporting websites ammunition to claim Sheriff Arpaio's Cold Case Posse got it wrong. To clear this up we need answers. I am sure most of you agree.

Sometimes I can’t resist feeding them either... Perhaps what I should say is don’t indulge their theories - just confront them with the cold, hard, facts.
As you can see I couldn’t resist one more post to one of the apparent trolls myself, so I suppose one could call me a bit of a hypocrite today. I’m just tired of these paid or volunteer propagandists assuming people are so stupid that they wouldn’t see through half of their BS when they pretend to be so confused, but yet “know so much”. Especially when their buddies come to save them when they get too much flak they can’t talk their way out of.

It would be interesting to see if the code numbers given on BO’s certificate aligned with those of Virginia Sunahara’s brother’s certificate ... and that’s assuming (making an ass of me not u) all data other than the baby’s name, sex, dob, etc., were the same. For example, father’s race and occupation codes.
I spend a lot of time on this subject, but not nearly as much as I’d like. As with most folks, there’s just not enough time in the day. Forgive me if the idea has already been quashed by more recent info of which I’m unaware.
Is there a copy floating about of Virginia’s brother’s birth certificate? Or, is it known that the info would definitely differ due to having a different father or what have you?

If #9 in 1961 actually meant “other non-white”
then explain how they got from “African” to #9 (other NON-white)
when Africa had many WHITE people living in it in 1961.
“African” tells nothing about race, so how would anyone like the perfectionist Ms. Lee ASSUME “non-white”?
So do you beleive the notion that Obama supporters are saying, that Obama Sr or one of the family members ‘self reported’ him as ‘African’ when filling out the birth registration and the clerk or registrar accepted it?

9 was a nearly universal code indicating a blank/null numeric field. A decade or so later, when the code was changed to two digits, as was reported earlier in this thread, notice that the 9 for “not stated” became, wonder of wonders, 99!
Ask anybody who worked in computer programming, coding, keypunching, etc., back in the days of punched cards and magnetic tape. 9 was filler for a numeric field that could not be left blank but for which there was no data supplied.
When, for example, a person didn’t have a social security number but a computer program required a number to be in that field, 999999999 was the social security number and it meant, guess what? There wasn’t a number to put in so we filled it with 9s.
That’s why when the race field was left blank on that birth certificate, Verna coded it 9. When the type of business was left blank, Verna coded it 9. It’s simple. It’s common knowledge among people old enough to know and remember.
Don’t insult the woman by saying she’s old and forgot. When you spend hours and hours, day in and day out, for years, coding stuff like this, you don’t “forget”. Zullo is a detective and has been in law enforcement for years. He knows how to investigate and he’s smart enough to make sure before he makes allegations. Prosecutors make sure to keep cops on their toes.

Yes, they accept it NOW. He was speaking to the procedure they use in the 21st century. Circa 1961, there was no such thing as “self identified” race.

When I say Feds, I mean the guys putting out the Vital Statistic annual reports which was the National Vital Statistic Division of the National Institute for Health Statistics
As to why I focus on the Federal coding requirements, it’s because Zullo says that is what Hawaii was using.
At the 12:22 mark of the press conference,
“...we started to pursue leads and made the determination that these codings were actually vital statistics codings, required by the federal government in 1960.”
And at the 13:11 mark, he describes what Ms. Lee told them,
“...they were coded by hand with numerals that meant something to the federal government. The federal government required this because they would take that coded information which is of a numeric value and they would use it on magnetic tape for their census records and other statistical records that they needed.”

I haven’t listen to the entire press conference again but I don’t recall hearing any reference to Hawaii having their own codes. Can you point it out to me?

Can you provide a link where he specifcally says that? I couln’t find it in the press conference, was it afterwards in an interview?

Exactly, and they are still doing it ( as of a few years ago ). A few years ago, my father applied for Social Security. They initially denied his payments saying he made too much that year - specifically $999,999.99 .

Birth Certificates are not standardized nationally. The specific layout and information contained varies from state to state. Zullo explained why they used the table they did in the presentation during the press conference...
I’m afraid I’m not up to speed regarding the Sunahara BC. I’m sorry if my responses to others on this thread have made you wary to ask questions.
Part of my hostility comes from dealing so long with people who obviously know way more than they claim, and try to pretend they are merely confused... As you can see from some of the comments on this thread, it quickly becomes apparent that some amazingly have an incredible amount of “information” and “education” on these subjects once they are engaged in a conversation about specifics.
If I knew more about the Sunahara BC I would be happy to answer your question. I understand not being able to spend as much time as one would like on this subject, I feel that way myself.
