Team Obama Seizing Western Water Supplies

Clearly, it was jolting news the New Mexico Legislature's Water and Natural Resources Committee wasn't prepared for. During Monday's committee meeting, in the Barbara Hubbard Room at the Pan American Center Annex, lawyers representing the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer, Elephant Butte Irrigation District, and the city of Las Cruces, told the committee that a state Water Court hearing will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, at the Third Judicial Court Complex, 201 E. Picacho Ave., and the future management of state's water supply could hang in the balance of the hearing's outcome.

"Why hasn't this been front-page news?" asked a surprised Clinton D. Harden Jr., a state senator from Clovis. "This is one of the biggest things ever. Frankly, what we're looking at is under the camel's nose. This is an unprecedented legal claim to water."

I have posted for years at FR the fact the Democrat Party is a criminal organization. This article, as well the earlier one ...

In this case in NM, not just Republicans upset. Dem legislators, especially in northern NM, represent Hispanics who have surface water rights for irrigation using centuries old ditches (acequias). This threatens them also:

"This is the first I've heard of this contrived conspiracy," Harden said.
"Many times the federal government has no common sense what so ever," said Rep. Candy Spence Ezzell, R-Roswell.
Added Rep. Joseph Cervantes, D-Las Cruces, and committee chair, "I'm really concerned about this lawsuit. This is really a strange, and bad — and bad — circumstance."

I hope the democrats in the State leglsator are paying attention, If new Mexico loses this is an absolute disaster for the entire state on the level of a crisis.

You cannot underscore this point the People of New Mexico cannot survive without water! Water is THE most valuable resource in the State. If Washington is allowed to take control of New Mexico’s water they will control & dehydrate the state.

This fact should be taken as a certainty because New Mexico’s neighbors hold far more sway over the Federal government than does New Mexico. They are simply bigger and more numerous.

State Democrats are going to pay dearly if they can’t convince Obama to back down, and leave the state alone.

For several years now, these thieves have been telling us, through fear-mongering about water shortages, that they’re coming after our water.

This action by Obama is the implementation of the March 16 Executive Order - Resources and Preparedness

Will Drought Cause the Next Blackout?

Power plants most vulnerable to water scarcity.

http://www.climatebites.org/climate-communication-metaphors-and-soundbites/the-consequences-are-bad/risk-a-probability/water-scarcity-closes-thermoelectric-power-plants

Who knew? Power plants use 40% of U.S. freshwater supplies. How will they cope with a drier climate? Who will keep the lights on when the water runs out?

Notes: Thermoelectric plants (nuclear, coal and gas) make up roughly 90 percent of the U.S. electricity mix and they use 40 percent of the nation’s freshwater supplies. Climate change will reduce freshwater supplies and threaten power plants that use water for cooling.

Vulnerability of US and European electricity supply to climate change

http://ht.ly/1keJom

In the United States and Europe, at present 91% and 78% (ref. 1) of the total electricity is produced by thermoelectric (nuclear and fossil-fuelled) power plants, which directly depend on the availability and temperature of water resources for cooling. During recent warm, dry summers several thermoelectric power plants in Europe and the southeastern United States were forced to reduce production owing to cooling-water scarcity

The drought was declared an “emergency”. Under the Resources and Preparedness Executive Order, Obama can seize resources.

Canada and the Great Lakes states came to an agreement that the feds cannot drain the Great Lakes to send the water somewhere else. Congress approved it. King Barack will ignore it and grab that water, also.

They voted for an African Marxist in New Mexico.

He’d starve us all to death if he could figure out a way. Socialists don’t want people living outside the cities. They are making claims to rain water and they are denying water to localities.

UN Agenda 21. Clinton signed it. The Senate never passed it but failed to overrule Clinton’s signature.

Even the D from Las Cruces nailed it.

You cannot underscore this point the People of New Mexico cannot survive without water! Water is THE most valuable resource in the State.

It's the same all over the West: If you control the water, you control the land.

It holds true whether the use of that land is ranching, mining, agriculture, or just people living.

It also crosses my mind that New Mexico has an oil and gas industry, too, and this may be a preemptive strike to prevent the sort of hydraulic fracturing essential to development of many resources there as well as elsewhere.

States like North Dakota are geared up to fight any such attempts, but New Mexico not only might not be, it might have enough liberals to sympathize and help set a dangerous precedent for Federal Control which could be applied elsewhere.

"he was spending $38 million on various “wildlands” projects in my area of Michigan including buying a 2000 acre tract a few miles from me "

2000 acres for "wildlands"? He could just go down Davison Ave and pick up that much real estate for a song...

Water will be the ultimate bargaining chip when things get tough.

Southern California needs a desalination plant, big time!

I’m glad we still live in a free country...

free, except, of course, for the necessary government controls on our food, water, energy consumption, and healthcare.
