Earlier this month news reports surfaced out of Saudi Arabia that raised the red flag for Christians, reports MNN.
Todd Nettleton, a spokesman for the Voice of the Martyrs USA, says, "The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia--the top Islamic official in the country of Saudi Arabia--has declared that it is "necessary to destroy all the churches of the region.'" Nettleton goes on to note that the report hasn't surfaced anywhere except on the Council on Foreign Relations Web site, which was then picked up by The Atlantic.
Ranked second on the Open Doors World Watch List (a compilation of the 50 countries where persecution of Christians is the most severe), the news is not really a surprise. There is no provision for religious freedom in the constitution of this Islamic kingdom.
All citizens must adhere to Islam, and conversion to another religion is punishable by death. Public Christian worship is forbidden; worshipers risk imprisonment, lashing, deportation, and torture. Evangelizing Muslims and distributing non-Islamic materials is illegal. Muslims who convert to Christianity risk honor killings and foreign Christian workers have been exposed to abuse from employers.

I have come around to the thinking, that not only should we have let Saddam have Kuwait, we should have let him have Saudi Arabia, as well.
Saudi Arabia is our Ally, and is not the font of Al Qaeda.
He kept Iran in check. That’s for sure.
This is what Glorious Leader wishes he could say.
But no matter how the tyrants of this world rant and rave, the Church will not die, thanks to the grace of the Lord Christ.
HA!
They pretend to be our ally, while all the time funding Wahabbism throughout the world. They keep their friends close, and their enemies even closer.
>>we should have let him have Saudi Arabia, as well.
I have to agree! Saddam was the only decent ruler in the region. He was secular and kept his psychotic people on a short leash. The House of Saud is the vilest bunch of back-stabbing SOBs in the region.
Never forget it was 19 Saudi citizens, motivated and financed by the fundamentalist Wahhabi who in turn are protected and funded by the Saudi government, killed over 3,000 Americans ans caused over a trillion dollars in economic harm. Bush hit the wrong country. The Saudis owe the US reparations. You can just guess if those Saudi terrorists had struck China or Russia.
***I have to agree! Saddam was the only decent ruler in the region.****
Google USS STARK.
Saddam was a sadistic thug, but one which was at least somewhat rational.
I’d say the only decent ruler was the Shah of Iran, and he was rewarded for his Enlightened despotism by being thrown to the wolves by Carter.
Sad thing is if the Pahlavis were as fundamentalist as the Saudis, they’d still be around to this day.
It always has been and it always will be about one thing:
OIL!!!!!!!!!!
Saudi Arabia is nothing but a large kitty litter box with oil seeping.
And make no mistake, we didn’t go to war in 1991 for Kuwait, they were chump change, it really was for the sake of Saudi Arabia, and that’s how they paid us back?
Jew-Hater James Baker was a paid Saudi agent.
Oh please..decent and psychotic do not go together. He purged and tortured those chritians and others that stood up to him in any fashion. Not to mention his terrorist training camps that he fielded. Get a grip on reality!
I had no problem removing Saddam from power. I have a serious problem in borrowing money from China to fight wars in middle-east. If our treasury had surplus dollars sitting around, by all means act as policeman and keep bad guys around the world in check.
But when we are bankrupt based on GAAP accounting standards, it is height of folly to spend 10 times more than any other nation. Have’nt we learned anything from the Roman empire, the Third Reich, USSR, etc who all went bankrupt trying to spend on military adventures.
In that part of the world, “decent” is a relative term.
I remember when STARK was taken out. Saddam and his pals all said it was a big mistake when they fired that EXOCET on STARK. I had some Inside Baseball info on that.
Probably had no choice after the First Gulf War.....But looking back that was the mistake......After that Saddam became obsessed with exacting his revenge on the US, and made deals with terrorists that he wouldn’t have made otherwise.
