MIAMI Republican Sen. Ted Cruz says the Obama administration is to blame for the waves of immigrant children crossing the border illegally.
The potential presidential candidate told reporters at a Republican fundraiser in Miami on Friday that Obama's 2012 decision to defer the deportations of some young immigrants who were brought to the country illegally creates a perception of an incentive to cross the border.
The Texas Republican calls Obama's executive order a "lawless act" that grants "amnesty."

Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
Thanks JimRob.
"Cruz says, abide by the constitution. Enforce the law. Secure the borders! Amen."
Amen! It doesn't get much simpler.
We need a President who understands, and is willing to abide by these basics.
Bump.
The flood of illegals is far worse than being reported, and growing...Obama & Company is definitely to blame. The intent is obvious, to force amnesty down our throats just as they forced Obama don’t care on us.
Senator Cruz, read Free Republic every day and stay ahead of the newscasts. Your information is at least two weeks old!
He is such a corrupt POS, he’s not worth a plugged nickel.
I tolerate most people, but this wannabe human is beneath my dignity.
He needs to be stoned in the square...or do they reserve that for the women?
BUMP!
Yes, amen!
Id vote for Ted for POTUS in a heartbeat.
May we be so blessed as to be allowed to do so.
Indeed. Amen.
Oh yeah Cruz is totally on message.
I watched a 20 min speech on CSPAN last nite, he was right on track!
With McDaniels in the senate with him and Lee we will have a great trifecta!
I say CRUZ is right!!
Why can’t Perry call out the Texas National Guard? Would this then put them in conflict with the Feds - BLM and Border patrol? Perry and Texas - my state need to do something other than ask Washington for help. Bring it to a head - If Perry did this he would agrner that support he needs to run for Pesident. Not that I think he is anything other than a rino but I’d like to seem him prove me wrong.
We need to get that man in office. (A higher one that he currently has, that is)
It is rare to find a politician these days willing to speak the truth. The unvarnished truth.
Good idea.
Man, you gotta be some kind of wild eyed radical these days to suggest actually abiding by the constitution. What would happen if the supreme court were to go as crazy as Ted Cruz?
Two things for sure. First, America would get another chance at survival, and second, I would go on a celebratory bender that would make the local news.
But Cruz is also Vice Chairman of the Republican Senate Group that lavishly funded Cochrane's MI 'outreach' to Democrats to defeat (Make that 'steal' a win from..) McDaniels.
Why didn't he complain to them? Mrs. Cruz a major VP and very big player at Goldman, Sachs. Any complaints there?
Ted, read FR everyday!
