Dark Matter Still Missing After Many Decades ... "Big Bang theory in trouble".
November 22, 2019 | Jerry Bergman
All the proposed candidates for mysterious, unknown stuff have failed to materialize, putting Big Bang theory in trouble.
by Jerry Bergman, PhD
The cover story of the November 16-22 New Scientist announced prominently on the cover:
DARK MATTER: We still havent found it. Our theories are falling apart. Is it time to rethink the universe? [1]
Dan Hooper, author of the cover story, is worried, because Dark Matter theory is a necessary support for the Big Bang. Thus, the Big Bang theory is also in trouble, as is the current theory about
how stars move within galaxies, and how galaxies move within galaxy clusters. Without it, we cant explain how such large collections of matter came to exist, and certainly not how they hang together today. But what it is, we dont know. Welcome to one of the biggest mysteries in the universe: what makes up most of it. Our best measurements indicate that some 85 per cent of all matter in our universe consists of dark matter made of something that isnt atoms.[2]

Yep.

That site will rot your brain; The content is all ‘sweets’ and very little protein ...
AMEN! Thank you!! Furthermore, we could not bear such awesome knowledge and mysteries of Creation, in our present state, when the majority of our society denies The Creator. God respects the WILL of the spiritually undiscerned ...blind, poor and naked -and- given over to foolish teachings of dead “scientists”. God, is The God of the Living... Not of the dead... Good night.

"Closed Universe with Positive Curvature PREDICTION CONFIRMED"
Recent analysis of the cosmic microwave background power spectra indicates that the universe is indeed closed and positively curved as predicted by Dr. Mills (E. Di Valentino, A. Melchiorri, J. Silk, Planck evidence for a closed Universe and possible crisis for cosmology, arXiv:1911.02087v1 [astro-ph.CO] 5 Nov 2019).
Dr. Mills also analytically predicted the acceleration of the expansion of the cosmos and the observed acceleration rate, years before it was observed. Dr. Mills analytical cosmological solution further predicted the Hubble constant being 78.5 km/sMpc (Eq. (32.157)) versus the much lower value that was curve fitted into the current ~12 parameter models which cannot tolerate such a large value.
These confirmed predictions have created three sources of crisis regarding current cosmological models such as ΛCDM.

Incorrect.
re: “Incorrect.”
Your ‘theories’ don’t stand up, to lab testing OR observation. These do.
“Go fish.”

OMG, that was a great gif. You owe me a new keyboard.
Brother you said a mouth full. Jean Harlow, what a dish!
Yes she is.
WRONG.
It got all tangled up.
So, have to chuckle When I See This Thread. My favorite beer is from the Logboat Brewing Company in Columbia Missouri. It’s called Dark Matter. It is a wheat Porter which has hints chocolate and coffee.

Provide an actual argument or sign off and log back in.
The “fifth force” has already been discovered. Einstein called it the “cosmological constant”; nowadays they call it “dark energy”. However, if you look at the equation that describes its effect, it is neither a constant, nor the equation for energy, it is the equation of a force, and it is what causes the accelerating expansion of the universe.
Personally, I think it’s really just a different aspect of the gravitational force, that repels matter from other matter at great distances, just as normal gravity attracts matter to other matter at small distances.
“Yeah, I know they say gravity isn’t strong enough so they have to invent dark matter. Most layman don’t even know it’s name is not for being dark, but because it’s unseen and unproven.”
Not just unseen and unproven, but perhaps “inert” in that it supposedly may not interact with ordinary matter in any way EXCEPT when it comes to gravitational effects, which is why it might be so hard to detect.
However, is that reasoning really any different than the reasoning that led scientists to believe there must be a “luminiferous ether” that didn’t interact with ordinary matter in any way, EXCEPT to transmit waves of electromagnetism?
From my perspective, if you have to posit some everpresent kind of matter that doesn’t actually act much like matter at all, then your conceptual framework is probably flawed and you have missed something fundamental.
TMI
ALL matter matters!
It turns out that roughly 68% of the universe is dark energy. Dark matter makes up about 27%. The rest - everything on Earth, everything ever observed with all of our instruments, all normal matter - adds up to less than 5% of the universe.
So the expansion of the universe has not been slowing due to gravity, as everyone thought, it has been accelerating. No one expected this, no one knew how to explain it. But something was causing it....Theorists still don’t know what the correct explanation is, but they have given the solution a name. It is called dark energy....
One explanation for dark energy is...
Another explanation...
Another explanation for dark energy...
A last possibility...
There are candidate theories, but none are compelling. So the mystery continues.
What Is Dark Matter?
We are much more certain what dark matter is not than we are what it is. - https://science.nasa.gov/astrophysics/focus-areas/what-is-dark-energy
Conclusion: What makes up 95% of the universe in uncertain.
We (think we) know so much but so little.
