Trump ruined our economy and all for naught!" "Trump and his capitalism put millions out of work for nothing!"
If you haven't already heard this from the "mainstream media" (AKA "fake news"), you soon will. Fake news media, doing the bidding of their leftist and Democrat masters, have been trying to destroy Donald Trump with hoaxes since he announced his candidacy, or maybe ever since Trump first questioned Barack Obama's claim of being born in the U.S.
The fake news first claimed that President Trump overreacted to COVID-19, then Trump was belittling COVID-19 and ignoring the experts, then Trump didn't act fast enough, and soon the fake news media will come full circle to proclaim that Trump hyped it all up and shut down the U.S. economy for nothing. For once, will the fake news media report something real? Will this be a scandal with some weight of truth, eating into the base that never bought the prior hoaxes?
As an expert in computer modeling and simulation, with some familiarity in epidemiology, I can assure you that the computer models upon which Trump has based his policies are absolute bunk. The real-world data from Wuhan (however much you want to believe it) and the Diamond Princess and other countries and cruise ships suggest that COVID-19 kills more of the people it infects (0.5% vs. 0.1%) but infects far fewer people than influenza (3% vs. 15%). There might have been 50,000 deaths in the U.S. if we had done absolutely nothing. The fake news media will have plenty of experts to back that up, and they will be reinforced with the final numbers, which might not even top 20,000, including the exaggerations.

People forget the actual closure of the economy has been through STATE shutdown orders, starting in California. The economy wont open until the governors lift those orders

Ah, I have been saying this for a while. No matter what, the left will blame Trump. Now they are saying he has blood on his hands and caused the death of thousands. Once this is over, and if it isn’t as terrible as predicted, then they will say Trump ruined the economy. I can just see Pelosi and Schumer rubbing their hands in glee thinking they have Trump in a fix no matter what happens. I despise these leftist jerks. I just hope the American public isn’t that dumb, but one never knows.
Capitalism has been what America is all about, before Ww2, therefore that ain’t POTUS 45’s fault!
Second, the newsmedia has hated me since the Vietnam War, of which I was a participant.
If Trump loses you can thank Dr Fauci
It’s time to open the economy....
It is tough to get the unemployed to vote....
Biden will be seen as senile...
MSN and democrats you ruined the economy to save 50,000 jobs
President Trump did not ruin anything! This question is posed with an assertion that is not warranted just like” “When did you stop beating your wife?”
Fake news media... ALL of them.
SPJNK.
Being president, and dealing with a crisis like this is exceedingly difficult. There is a huge reelection risk if the president under-reacts.

Just being born here is insufficient to make one a natural born citizen.
The children of foreigners born with divided citizenship, loyalties and allegiances are precisely who the founders were excluding with the natural born citizen requirement.
Obama is proof they were correct.
Partisan Media Shills update.
As such, and in line with my prior post on a proper relative comparison of deaths across the world, below is today's update with April 5th totals for the US and other countries that started their round of golf on March 25. While the US' time series ends on Day 12 (which is April 5 - and is basis of the order, i.e., I sorted the data by Day 12 values), I am publishing other countries future totals/'golfer's scores' who are on hole 8 while we're at hole 4.
The US' ranking in this group of countries hasn't changed in the past few days. But the relative ranking of other countries is moving around; the 'hands-off' countries like Sweden and the Netherlands are rising in the ranks (which isn't a good thing). It's also worth noting the Spain AND the UK don't look good at all on this adjusted basis.
As I said previously, I'd prefer to be lower in this bodies-on-the-cart analysis, but for now it is what it is.
