This is huge. I beg to differ. A nuclear blast over Washington is huge. The assassination of the President is huge. War in the Middle East is huge.
This is so miniscule as as to be microscopic and I question why it is even posted here on Free Republic. Don't waste our time.

Most people that put their boats in salt water give it a good cleaning when they take them out of the water.

I have no idea why the media is so het up about this unless it's a ratings thing ala Joanbene' or Chandra Levi. Sorry the lady disappeared, but thousands disappear every year. I guess this breaks up the monotony of all Saddam all the time. Chandra was good copy during the dog days of summer, when the first plane hit the WTC she became a trivia question. Laci's 15 minutes is up when the first missle hits Baghdad.

...There still would be salt water SOMEWHERE. This of course is not enough to get a conviction, but it certainly adds to the growing pile of circumstantial evidence.

The police say that there will be an arrest within weeks....with or without the body.

I'm suspect too because I'm posting here as well. However, I agree that this is the antithesis of 'huge'.

No, it's people that think attractive upper-middle class women being murdered aren't any more important than anyone else being murdered, and that itdoesn't justify wall-to-wall national news coverage when there are lots of more important things to discuss, that you need help against.

I'm sorry I wasted your valuable time. I guess you don't want to see a murderer brought to justice Oh don't be so bloody self righteous! What are you doing to "bring a murderer to justice." What? Posting this? Get real. This buckeroo is the net, fantasy land for keyboard warriors who think typing something constitutes action. And while you're at it shed a tear for all those murder victims who didn't have money and connections and that nobody gives a flyin fig about. Start typing and bring some of those guys to justice.

Maybe Nancy has the same sources as the National Enquirer.
Here is their Laci story for the Feb.25 issue:
Laci Mystery: Cops Rip Husband's Alibi Appart by David Wright
1. Scott Peterson's alibi had been blown out of the water - literally. The Enquirer has learned exclusively from police sources that the boat Scott took sea fishing on the day Laci's disappeared, has NO traces of saltwater. The boat shows no traces of being launched at sea.
2. NE has also learned that Laci's blood has been found in Scott's truck according to preliminary DNA tests.
3. A pool contractor interviewed by police on Feb.5th has contradicted Scott's story that pool workers left behind cement bags in the Peterson yard. The contractor denied flatly that the bags were his.
4. One of the first things Scott did when he came home from the Marina was to wash his clothes. He told police, he did that because they'd become soaked with saltwater. The fishing trip is Scott's alibi and the lack of saltwater blows his alibi appart.
5. Tests are also being done on the vacuum cleaner Scott was seen using to clean the floor at his home after Laci disappeared.
6. Detectives are also investigating a tip that Scott ordered three 55-gallon drums delivered to his warehouse before Christmas.
7. Outrage that Laci's SUV was sold and that Scott has made inquiries about selling the house.
8. The date stamped on one of the photos that were taken of Amber and Scott shows it was taken just days befor Laci disappeared. In the picture, Scott and Amber pose, smiling, in front of a Christmas tree. It was taken at a party of one of her close friends. The couple have their arms around each other and their hands clasped lovingly together in front of them. No one at the party had any idea that Scott had a wife.
9. A neighbor of Scott's who volunteered at the Red Lion for searches for Lacy has said: "Every afternoon Scott would wave goodbye to us, saying he was going to post fliers with Laci's picture on it." He found out later that Scott had gone golfing instead. The neighbor was so disgusted he quit as a volunteer.
10. Red Lion room services manager also said Scott and his boss were seen sitting the the hotel's bar on 3 occasions laughing and talking and having a good time.

Ditto. At the same time Jonbene was killed there was a 9 year old black girl in Chicago who was found in a dumpster. No one had even reported her missing. Her killer was never found. Dirty shame she wasn't pretty, rich and white.

Um... Okay. Im sorry for being interested then.
I get very excited when I see smug b*st*rds like Scott Peterson brought to justice. He represents the Bill Clinton attitude of invincability to me. It's a new pathology of deny, deny, deny. I abhore that mindset and tactic.
Scott's arrest will be a small victory against that mentality.
To: not-an-ostrich
It seems as if Scott Peterson has gotten himself a defense brigade to cover his a** on Free Repubic.

We all KNOW when the first missile hits Bagdad, this will disappear.
What's the threat here? The Rocha's have asked that people give them tips, and they do read this forum.
What would you have, not to SAVE one child, when we should be saving the whole world? Not to try and solve ONE crime, when we should be solving them ALL. Unreasonable expectation on your part.
If this topic is beneath you, don't read it.

Uuuummmmm?? I don't think this is anything at all ...
Any good fisherman - at least a fisherman who goes into SALT water - would never leave the salt water on his boat. The first thing he would do is wash the salt water off his boat, because the salt would corrode his boat - especially if it's a metal boat - which Scott's boat appears to be.
This is NOTHING!!!

A complete absence of such traces indicates that the boat hasn't been in the water for a long time.

NO WAY he could get 100% of the salt off the boat's interior, exterior, trailer, equipment, and his clothing.
Also, nobody in Scott's family knew he had a boat.
Furthermore, Scott doesn't even own any fishing gear!

In Los Angeles last week, a black woman was killed in a gang crossfire as she carried groceries to her church, where she was a well-loved volunteer. No mention on FR that I saw. But I guess that's just life in the big city.

Correct! He goes fishing on a last minute whim, with a boat no one knew he had, for Sturgeon at a Marina where no one saw him, with bait he didn't purchase anywhere.
