The Compassion of the Left
World Net Daily ^ | 4/15/03 | Neil Boortz

Posted on 04/15/2003 1:45:24 PM PDT by amused

Seven months ago, in my very first column for WorldNetDaily, I told you why liberals find it so difficult to succeed at talk radio. I reviewed that column recently and saw that I failed to introduce you to a group of people called Democratic Talk Radio.

Democratic Talk Radio consists of two stalwart Democrats, Stephen Crockett and Al Lawrence, who have launched a syndicated Democratic talk-radio show and who use their website to cajole followers to lobby radio stations on their behalf.

Their website really is worth a visit. Log onto one of their message boards and make a comment critical of a Democrat or Democratic policy – and see how long it is before your comment is excised and you are banned from further participation.

{snip}

Kelly's conservative, anti-Clinton credentials made him a prime target for leftist vitriol – and if you want to find some real good leftist vitriol, there are few places better than DemocraticUnderground.com. Following Kelly's death, Democrats logged on to democraticunderground.com to express their "feelings." Those who are strong-of-stomach might be able to read some of the postings without any appreciable sudden weight loss.

Boortz shows DU for what it is. Hiding behind the "tolerance" and "peace" is nothing tolerant or peaceful.

And after braving the sewer, I am happy to report that DU is going nuts over this because they feel they were "selectively" quoted. They don't have the cajones to own up to making a mistake. Instead as usual with the left, it's someelse's fault.

Hmmm. Is the Micheal Kelly who was killed in Iraq the same Micheal Kelly who was famous for his anti-Clinton pieces (such as "I believe")?
This article and the DU quotes make it sound like he was, but it seems I read in threads here it was a different Micheal Kelly.
Would appreciate enlightenment

There was another thread on DU about 3 weeks prior to the November elections. A republican candidate for an NC House seat died. A DUer posted a thread asking if he should be happy and joyful about this. At the time I was posting at DU and gave him a piece of my mind. I was banned, but for comments on another thread. Then just a week later Wellstone died. But being that I was banned i couldnt go and comment to the poster of the thread expressing joy about a GOP candidate dying.

They should be more careful about what they wish for.

Also, Blogger Brian at FederalReview.com posted a blog about DU's glee at the death of Kelly and included a link to the thread.

In fairness, Rush uses call screeners who filter out non-dittos as well. And if a DU'er would come here and post their typical nonsense, they'd be banned as well. As far as wishing death on other media figures, thats just sick.

Have you ever listened to Rush?! Liberals go to the head of the line if they identify themselves as such.

Rush uses screeners to keep people who are unable to articulate their thoughts in a coherent fashion off the air and those who wish to speak about something that is off topic at that time. NOT to keep people who disagree with him off the air. He puts those callers to the front of the line.

Democratic Talk Radio wanted to bring in their own call screeners so only like minded people, and most likely plants would get on air.

No I don't listen to him so my info comes from print articles. Specifically, it was a critique that he employs numerous call screeners to create the impression that everyone agrees with him. So do liberals get a chance to speak regularly on the show?

Oh that DTR site is fun.

Here are some excerpts...

"Separation of Church and State has been the single most important element in making America a great nation"

Then why did it take the Supreme Court to "find" it in the Constitution?

"The Christian doctrine of "Free Will" is ignored by the political activities of the Republican "so called" Christian Right. We are given the choice to select sin or salvation by God. Legislation is simply irrelevant to salvation. Salvation is the purpose of Christianity, not legislative or political victories by Republicanism.

Christianity also teaches us to care for the poor and helpless. This is not reflected in the lobbying or electoral activity of the "so called" Christian Right. The Republican agenda is a political statement that essentially glorifies Greed. Since when is the Christian religion an advocate of Greed? "

This is the glaring inconsistency of the Democratic Party. If we have "free will" then why do we have to "care for the poor and helpless" at the point of a gun (via government taxation)? Charity isn't charity if its forced.

*Sigh*. The good die young. Sometimes I think God looks down at such people and says "This one's done. There's no more improvements to be made. "

With hatred like this out there I worry for our President and pray that he is very, very careful and does everything the SS tells him to do. If these people are willing to talk like this I don't put anything past them.

However, I have to say, if it comes down to a fight between liberals and conservatives, conservatives will beat them like Tanya Harding beating up Paula Jones.

As I said, Liberals get preferential treatment. Don't believe everything you read.

In fact, its most entertaining when Rush lets the Liberals talk uninterrupted, although sometimes he has to stop them to make their tirades fit in the alloted timeslot.

He often invites them to call back too.

They keep saying that FR was worse when Wellstone died. I don't remember much of anyone being happy that he died. Most of the comments I saw were "I didn't agree with him, but that's a shame. Prayers for the family". I even remember people giving him kudos for being a principled liberal. Maybe they remember how horrified we were when they used his memorial to conduct a pep rally.

But that Kelly thread on DU appears to be dead, I tried to link through on my copy and the one from Instapundit. Should have done a screen shot I guess.

Rita X hasn't called in for a while. I look forward to her next call. Unless she has finally left on the Mother Ship.

I BELIEVE, by Michael Kelly

As telling an indictment of the Klintoon years as was ever written.

So good, it deserves to be posted over and over and OVER again. Rest in peace, Michael.

Hannity, Boortz and Rush all put liberals to the head of the list...and the only time they get cut-off is when they sound like the idiots at DU. Most Conservatives I know enjoy spirited debate (even here) but when it breaks down into name calling, the debate is over...we win.
