Urgent Prayer Request for my Brother (See update in post 364)
09/30/2005 | Self

Posted on 09/30/2005 6:03:00 AM PDT by Aracelis

My brother, Eric, will be attempting to get his children back legally from his estranged wife in a little more than 5 hours. He has not seen his children, Korin (age 10), Damon (aged 9), and Aaron (aged 8) in over a month, and they are his entire life.

My sister-in-law is an extremely disturbed individual with numerous psychiatric and physical problems, and ran away with the children one day while my brother was at work. He does not know where any of them are, has had no telephone contact, and has been searching frantically for them ever since.

Would you please pray that Eric can be reunited with his children, and that none of them come to any harm? Unfortunately, my brother lives in a state that automatically assumes the mother to be the better caretaker, but in this case I am hoping the judge will see otherwise.

It was resolved in a way. I haven't seen my kids in fifteen years.

I figured it was best to let them go rather than put them through further torture.

Maybe I'll get to see them before the big dirt nap.

Thank you God! It looks like brighter days are ahead for these precious children and their dad. We do hope the mom gets the help she needs, but the children need to be in a stable home and loving environment.

One small bit of advice. A small tape recorder in his pocket that is voice activated wouldn't hurt either. I'm not suggesting leading the children into anything, but IF they should decide to confide in him in anyway..... proof's in the pudding.

Happy Thanksgiving.... our prayers will continue.

That is so great! Thanks be to God.

As much as I suspect the mental health proffesion, when my sister and her ex went through all the tests they actually hit the mark all the way. Her ex is this pompous, alcoholic lawyer and pretty intelligent and we thought he might be able to beat the tests but he didn't and when it turned out that my sister had a higher IQ than him he was furious. I also think that the Guardian ad litem was great because she truly was there to protect the interest of the child.

I'm so terribly sorry. I have a very close and dear friend who hasn't seen his children for almost as long a time, and the pain is indescribable. I will keep you in my prayers...

You know sometimes a sacrifice is better in the long run.

Better to quiet the battlefield than to continue the battle.

I'd rather sacrifice my own interests for the sake of my kids.

I'm sure the are doing well. At least that is my hope.

Thank God Aracelis. I'm so glad your brother can visit with those kids. I truly belive that prayers in numbers are especially heard by Our Lord. Thanksgiving day wishes to all of you and glad you can all breath a little sigh of relief right now. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with your family. Your brother is blessed to have such a loving, supportive family. And we are all blessed to have such a compassionate group of people here to pick each other up when times are tough.

You are all such wonderful brothers and sisters...

I called my Dad again late last night to see how he and my brother were doing. Dad said it was the most curious thing, that they had both awakened that morning grouchy, irritable, and ready to fight bear...but that the moment they entered the courthouse, an amazing sense of peace and calm came over them, and their anger evaporated.

Everything went so smoothly in court for Eric. He was calm and unafraid, for he felt God's presence. Sometimes Eric can be overwhelmed with emotion and cannot find the right words to say, but not this time. Dad said he spoke with courage and conviction, in stark contrast to both Angela and her lawyer.

Oh, the deep miracles that our Lord brings to us!

I hope you all have a terrific Thanksgiving, for you have already made mine blessed.

So happy to hear the news! Sounds like things went well, and that the judge will be sure Angela follows through with the evaluations (our next step also).

What a wonderful Thanksgiving gift! Prayers and thoughts continue, and please give Eric our love! I have a very good feeling that things will go well for him and the children. Hopefully Angela will get the help she needs, but the children are the most important thing now, and I'm sure Eric will provide a loving environment for them with the help of your family. Please keep us informed!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!

Great news!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for your brother and his children. What a relief this must be for your entire family, and a great start for the holiday season. More prayers that things will continue to work out for Eric and the children.
