Now hear this:

Thanks to John McCain, Free Republic will shut down tomorrow at high noon for 30 days. No non government approved electioneering messages may be transmitted over the internet for the 30 days immediately preceding a primary election.

That is all.

The above exercise was just a drill. But if John McCain has his way with his proposed rules for regulating political free speech on the internet, this is how we will be forced to operate in the coming election cycle and all election cycles in the future until we can get the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold act repealed.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

If the thought of losing your right to express yourself online makes you mad, it is high time you let Senator John McCain know how you feel.

Unless I'm very much mistaken the Republicans do not have control of the house and senate. I believe they need 60 votes for that which they don't have.

Reminds me of how President Bush tries to redefine the term amnesty so that he can pretend that the amnesty legislation he supports isn't really amnesty.

Republicans control the committees, the agenda, the floor, and the majority. No, they don't have a super majority, but they do control the House and the Senate along with the White House.

Are you really trying to put forth the premise that Republicans share no blame for passing and signing the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold censorship bill into law?

McCain is now toast, as far as ever getting a nomination to run for president.

In a just world all you would have to do if anyone charged you with violating McCain-Feingold is to toss a DVD of Fahrenheit 9/11 onto the judges bench and say "Exhibit A, move to dismiss."

Of course we all know that there is a double standard in justice where liberals get a free pass on crime.

What does it take to impeach or throw out a Senator? Anyone know?

You expect the right and left to get together on this one? Please think again.

The law introduced by McPain and his buddy, and subsequently passed by the two legislatures and signed by the President, (and not studied closely by the President) was enacted to curtail the electioneering by only the RIGHT; e.g., one example the NRA will not be able to suggest within 60 days before an election who should be elected.

In the meantime, the MSN are not stopped by the law; and given that most of the Media support the left, now do you still believe that the left will join with the right to stop the above movement by McPain?

Jim, Jim, Jim. The solution is both simple and (if you're a guy), even amusing.

We already know that stripping is Consitutionally protected. All we have to do is put pictures of naked babes in every post.

But seriously, McCain should be hit with this little datum as often as possible. "Senator, do you really believe the founders intended the Constitution to protect stripping but not political debate?"

From www.recallmccain.org:

The last general election in 2000 dealt with Senator Kyl’s U.S. Senate seat. There were about 1.4 million votes cast all of the candidates, which translates to about 350,000 signatures required for a recall. We believe that the “preceding general election” language refers to John McCain’s office as he is the officer we are recalling. In his election held in 1998 about 975,000 people voted for the office of U.S. Senator in Arizona. That would mean about 244,000 signatures are required on the Recall John McCain petition. Title 19 of the A.R.S. contradicts Article 8 of the Arizona Constitution in how the number of petitioners is derived in this case. The AZ Constitution is the authority. A request from the Arizona Attorney General for interpretation on this issue is pending.

There was an election since then in which 2,000,000 people voted for Senator. So, I guess you can double the amount of signatures needed now to about 500,000.

There may be an effort afoot to renew the Recall John McCain effort. Stay tuned.

"Treasure every moment you have with your daughter."

I do. It's all I have thought about for the past year. I'm proud she serves, I'm equaly glad she's home, safe and sound. I thank God every day for this blessing.
