Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Over and over and over and over...

And over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.....

But, then again, if you wouldn't engage and try to argue with 2-year-olds, he wouldn't have a reason to post that crap over and over and over again. Might I suggest a strategy of just ignoring the P.O.S.

Now THAT is funny! :-)

I haven't had a time out-yet. I came close 3-4 times though.

I asserted the United States' superiority over MadIvan's nation of origin. I never figured that one out.

If you do, let me know cause I don't understand it as anything that would get you in timeout.

And Pukin Dog has opused - AGAIN

Is the person you're talking in this sentence gone now, as we speak? There is a certain FReeper who 's name shall not pass my lips, that requested that I never post or mention their name again. It was on a border thread I believe where this incident happened. ;-)

Times have changed and the tide has turned.

And it's about time.

That wasn’t particularly helpful. Sorry if you think the possibilities are bizarre, but I’ve been around the ‘net since before http was a format and in BBSs since 300 baud modems and I’ve seen all the variations on forum politics that exist.

As BB said, though, some of these people may not even recognize themselves as disruptors. I’ll tell ya what, though. If I ever (perish the thought) get fed up here, I’ll go quietly, not try and set off a stickbomb on the way out. The stinkbomb, major opus, or Big Fuss is one of the identifying marks to beware of.

It’s not reasonable to ask us to debate on whether or not we will accept or overlook abortion, support for NARAL, support for feminism and the gay agenda, gun control, sanctuary and wefare rights for illegal aliens, corruption and socialism, etc, into the GOP just so Rudy Giuliani can become president. Sorry, but our God-given rights to life and liberty are NOT negotiable and I refuse to compromise or “debate” with anyone over whether or not I should accept the unacceptable. Sorry, asking me to willingly accept liberalism/socialism/abortionism/feminism into the GOP is totally unreasonable!

my ideals will never be reached on this earth.

if I had stuck strickly to my ideals and never allowed for the best I could acheive at a given time (Dubya for instance), PBA would still be the law of the land.

I would not/do not support Rudy in the primaries, but in the general election I would choose him over any Dem candidate in a heartbeat.

yes, I have lines I will not cross and I realize others do as well, but let’s not set all of them for others. let’s educate through rational discussion instead

For months we’ve had this war on, and I recall you and Extremely Extreme and Flashbunny and others taking a lot of flack and fire. I want to thank you for your effort.

The Rudy people and the McRomney faction truly thought we would go meekly to this dreadful choice they were trying to set up, both in the primaries and the 2008 general.

It’s still almost a year before things get started, and we have successfully let the GOP know that our vote was for “none of the above.”

Fighting for your principles IS 'the hard way'...

Your not fighting for any principles that I recognize. The only people flopping around are the knee jerkin frogs in the conservative bucket.

The RNC has been self destructing for the last four years. What principle says you should damage your political party, in order to save it? What principle, in the Rudy debate, says you should attack him unmercifully as a candidate for your own political party? And it's not just Rudy who's being attacked by the right.

I thought that was supposed to be the purview of the Democrats.

What principles lead you to believe you are doing a good thing?

You keep driving wedges into the party and expect the damage will heal? It's not!

It has become so common now, that we take it for granted the this is the way a political party should behave. It's not!

If you destroy Rudy, then what? Who's next? What other needed segment of the party will you alienate?

You think it is principle that guides you?

It's no principle that I have ever seen. It's not..... It's vindictive hubris by a relatively small segment of the party, but every segment is required to beat the Dems.

If you think for one minute that the loss of the White House in 2008 will somehow make the party more conservative, you are wrong. It's not. It will make them even more desperate and dysfunctional, just as happened to the Dem's. This will go on for some time, and the fact is, that it did not need to happen at all. 2006 was warning, NOT a sign that conservatism was failing or was not conservative enough.. It was a warning that the coalition was breaking down.

Well it's broke now!

Enjoy.......

The secret is to go back to the foundational principles and make sure that THEY are the common ground we build on. Otherwise, it's the Tower of Babel, built on sinking sand.

Yes, amen! All other ground is sinking sand! WE have to take the GOP back from the liberals! If they don't like our conservative values, let them join the party they support. The RAT party!

"Unless the LORD builds the house, they that labor, labor in vain."

Amen!

I have a clear record as a conservative, both on FR and off.

A "record" yes. Conservative, well, that's something we could debate.

Okay. Let's start with my record vis a vis the California Recall election versus your record.

"I'd rather see the Party lose an election than see it lose its soul."

I'm firmly of that mindset, as well. It's time to draw the line, take a stand, and the RNC either listens and acts appropriately, or implodes.

:O)
