O'Reilly Factor Provides Free Republic Offending Comments Links

Edited on 08/01/2007 4:30:51 PM PDT by Admin Moderator. [history]

I received an e-mail today from the Fox News producer who booked me for the O'Reilly Factor last night. The links have been forwarded to Jim Robinson for review.

Jim asked me to start a thread with the links so that Freepers, and everyone else, could see for themselves what the fuss is about.

The Hillary Clinton stray bullet assassination comment was a very bad joke comment that someone posted two days ago. It was flagged last night after the O'Reilly Factor broadcast and was removed by a moderator. It is available for the time being in Google cache:

To: Virginia Ridgerunner I like my scenario better:

After eight years of the economy faltering, interest rates are 19%, 900,000 people are dead in Iraq since we left, taxes have gone up by 60% and Chile, Bolivia and Columbia are now Communist regimes, a stray bullet at a NARAL rally catches President Clinton and kills her.

As they take away Cindy Sheehan she screams why did she have to remove the troops? We were winning.

The next day the dow goes up 2000 points and closes at 2150.

Don't even bother trying to defend that one. Assassination jokes have no place on Free Republic. Yes, Cindy Sheehan has written of her fantasizies about killing President Bush--and she's not joking, but that's her problem. We're better than that.

The "homosexuals are dogs" comment is taken out of context. The actual quote is "Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger." That was in reference to an article about proprieters in the U.K. not being allowed to deny hotel accomodations to homosexual couples on account of religious belief.

The American Heritage online dictionary gives this description for the phrase: dog in the manger, NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. dogs in the manger. One who prevents others from enjoying what one has no use for oneself. ETYMOLOGY: From a fable in which a dog prevented an ox from eating hay he did not want himself.

That comment was posted two days ago and has also been removed by the moderators. It is available for now in Google cache.

The "I hate blacks" comment was nowhere to be found in the other threads referenced.

The threads are about crime in the black community, gangsta culture and Jesse Jackson. Two of the threads are in the Smoky Backroom.

As bad as some of these may be, they are nowhere near as vile as such sites as ClownPosse and those ilk (which I can’t name cause I don’t visit them). Ask O’Reilly, since he so fair and balanced, if he is going to point those sites out to the viewing audience? To talk about how mean, vicious, and vile some of their discussions are?

It would appear that you don’t really read what is on Free Republic much if at all.

The actual quote is "Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger."

I guess I'm not seeing why the mods pulled it. Pandering to BOR?

I just went to the HuffPo link someone posted.

In all fairness, there was some pretty vile stuff posted about homosexuals.

I think it is not good for the site to post stuff like that, no matter how you feel about homosexuality (I do not support it).

Unfortunately, it is real easy to smear the site when people are not prudent in what they post. Left-wing fascists can and do root this stuff out and paint FR as what it is not.

Who is this bozo Steve Young anyway?

From your graphic, it looks like for some reason in early April 2007, that BO.com briefly kissed our FR butt.

I was the one who posted the story about the criminal who was killed with the baggy pants running from the police. I reread that article to be sure and nowhere in it does it say the race of the individual at all. I ASSUMED the man was black, as did most posters, but if I in any way was wrong in posting the story I would like to know, or if there was anything out of line in it.

The stupid thing about B.O. is I'll bet you can find more vitriolic Hateful
comments in his emails than you would ever find here. I wouldn't call him a
HATER! I've been reading and posting on this sight for almost 10 years now
and this place is a model for what should be considered at least on the edge of The Geeksvilles of civil and polite postings. If you're going to read a few
comments made by some posters and then call the site a "Hate Site" thinking that's an overall theme of discussion, you're being totally disengenious
and haven't really investigated the site.

Actually, I expect a little better, even from B.O.

Oh wow, could my previous post look any more stupid?

Sorry!

Geez for someone who just claimed they'd been posting here for almost 10 years you'd think they'd have their posting credentials down pat! At least some of you aren't surprised!

HTML SUX!!! Is that hateful enough for you BO?

I don’t soil myself and go to that site.

I do remember several FReepers commenting on it a couple of years back (last election cycle?)?

I think I should weigh in on this since this thread seems to be about me.

First off - O’Reilly, go pound sand. As far as I am concerned you are a worthless POS who pandered to the leftwing at the expense of a great forum so you can generate ratings from the left. I lost all respect for you. Go ahead, play this clip tonight.

Second - I never said Hillary should be assassinated, I never suggested that anyone assassinate her. Not unlike the other site who wishes Cheney be killed or Bush be gunned down. BIG DIFFERENCE!

Third - I am going to fight this. I didn’t see the episode but if he did use my name I want time to respond.

Finally, If my quote was pulled from this site, I would like an explanation. Because my comment was no different then the thousands of comments on this board that has presented “fictional scenarios” and I am hoping that this site didn’t pander to the leftwings new poster boy.

No no no. Not here ;-).

I did some searching and nothing comes up (5 min search).

However, I distinctly remember hearing that EE posts over there ( I think it was before the ‘04 election). I remember being shocked that the wife of a “policymaker” (my quotes) posted over there and that formed my opinion of the Edwardses.

If I have time tonight, I’ll do some more sleuthing. ‘Pod.

If you had standards you would have went to the weebsite, gone to the thread and saw what was written didn’t jibe.
