O'Reilly Factor Provides Free Republic Offending Comments Links

I received an e-mail today from the Fox News producer who booked me for the O'Reilly Factor last night. The links have been forwarded to Jim Robinson for review.

Jim asked me to start a thread with the links so that Freepers, and everyone else, could see for themselves what the fuss is about.

The Hillary Clinton stray bullet assassination comment was a very bad joke comment that someone posted two days ago. It was flagged last night after the O'Reilly Factor broadcast and was removed by a moderator. It is available for the time being in Google cache:

To: Virginia Ridgerunner I like my scenario better:

After eight years of the economy faltering, interest rates are 19%, 900,000 people are dead in Iraq since we left, taxes have gone up by 60% and Chile, Bolivia and Columbia are now Communist regimes, a stray bullet at a NARAL rally catches President Clinton and kills her.

As they take away Cindy Sheehan she screams why did she have to remove the troops? We were winning.

The next day the dow goes up 2000 points and closes at 2150.

Don't even bother trying to defend that one. Assassination jokes have no place on Free Republic. Yes, Cindy Sheehan has written of her fantasizies about killing President Bush--and she's not joking, but that's her problem. We're better than that.

The "homosexuals are dogs" comment is taken out of context. The actual quote is "Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger." That was in reference to an article about proprieters in the U.K. not being allowed to deny hotel accomodations to homosexual couples on account of religious belief.

The American Heritage online dictionary gives this description for the phrase: dog in the manger, NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. dogs in the manger. One who prevents others from enjoying what one has no use for oneself. ETYMOLOGY: From a fable in which a dog prevented an ox from eating hay he did not want himself.

That comment was posted two days ago and has also been removed by the moderators. It is available for now in Google cache.

The "I hate blacks" comment was nowhere to be found in the other threads referenced.

The threads are about crime in the black community, gangsta culture and Jesse Jackson. Two of the threads are in the Smoky Backroom.

I almost want to say: If O’Reilly is so wrong about Free Republic, perhaps he is wrong about KOS as well. I say “almost,” as KOS is an unspeakable site indeed. My point is that the leprechaun is sometimes right on the the money, and yet he still has this Hitler=right/Stalin=left mentality that is very puzzling.

Reading that made me sick.

It seems clear to me now, why BO is a hater a of free speech on the internet.

He specifically mentioned Wikipedia as a defamatory site, that should be sued for slander.

Ah ha, no wonder he doesn’t want the truth to be out there for all to see.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Mackris

If he was innocent he wouldn’t have settled.

I downloaded his free podcast from Aug. 2nd in iTunes to have proof of what he said about needing new laws.
You only get the first hour, so it’s not all there but he says this in the beginning; “The way I get things done with politicians and other people, is either you do the right thing or I’m gonna tear your throat out”.
Sounds like ‘hate’ to me. Hmm, just a tad hypocritical, eh?

Then he goes on to say about KOS and hate sites: “now this stuff has gotta stop and we’re probably gonna need to have new laws instituted because it’s just gotta stop.”

I am still just infuriated to find him to be such a creepy moronic hypocrite.

But I do think anyone who says horrible things about our President, or nation or our military should be tried for treason. Like Hanoi Jane should’ve been!

Lanny started whining right on cue
“The Right has hate sites. FreeRepublic is a hate site. Whah, whah, whah”
(paraphrased except for the whah-whah’s)

IIRC, at first BOR said his classic “don’t justify bad behavior with other bad behavior” The rest is history (YAWN!)

BOR is an asset to our side if you ever watch him. So he says that some posts on FR were insensitive. Any intelligent person can see that he does this to draw distinction between the Left and Right. The Right comes out shining (and of course BORs rating go up with some “moderates”). Its actually good that more moderates listen to him since he is skewering the Left all the time including all the Dem presidential hopefuls. We would be worse off without O’Reilly (and his guest host Michelle - who could never draw the moderates like BOR does but I still like her better than BOR)

Internet forums are like informal public gatherings. A politician visits a city and no one searches the city for the worst behaving citizen and then smears the candidate for being there. It is one thing to criticize a candidate for meeting with a group with a deplorable cause. I think the Dems visiting NARAL or GLSEN is disgusting. But a liberal forum is like visiting a liberal city. You can’t blame everyone for the deeds of a few. You can blame the group for the revolting causes they share in common. You can’t blame the group for the loser language or tactics of only a few.

I had those same thoughts reading this “silentknight” whose name I have never noticed before. If he’s a troll, and he does talk like one, he’s been trolling a long time, two years./
Either way, he doesn’t sound at all smart in ANYTHING he says in that post, especially the laughable sentiment “if Free Republic was the only exposure to the Republican Party I ever had, I’d think Republicans were hate-filled”
that statement is so behind-the-curve and unsophisticated I’d have to think this poster has not yet gotten out of his teenage years.

Trolling for two years? I’ve been here for almost ten years, and there are people who have been trolling all that time. Many are political operatives. Signed up in ‘98...but you only see them posting when the campaign seasons heat up. They are often easy to spot. Their agendas are all too recognizable.

Perfectly said, Red in Blue PA. O’Reilly says he’s not a Republican but an Independent; So he’s always trying to market himself as different than either side; therefore, when there’s fierce vile bile directed against President Bush and Senator Lieberman, he counters with -well the “far right sites do it too” and attacks FreeRepublic without, I’m sure, going on and evaluating the site personally to determine whether there is bile said or if it is even a”far” right site.

I’m relatively new here. I have never seen hate posts. I’ve seen posts that aren’t PC and a few that don’t belong on this type of board, imo, but I’ve never seen true hate posts or threads. I’m still new, been here only a few months.

I never had a problem with O’Reilly. I listen/read his stuff once in a while. However, he’s not truly conservative imo. He’s a flip flopper and he’s arrogant. IMO. Although, I do agree with him on some topics.

If this site becomes another PC site, that’s when I’ll stop coming here. If I can’t say homos are perverted, abortion is murder, Islam is out to murder all of us, etc., then I’ll know the entire internet is whacked.

I haven’t seen any real abusive comments on here. I’ve seen some not so pleasant posts and I’ve probably made some. I have never seen abusive or outlandish statements tolerated. I don’t know if they get deleted but I see a whole lot of posters calling it out and rectifying it all.

I’m under the impression that this site is pro life, pro gun ownership, pro democracy, etc.

Have you ever been in a conversation, with blacks, Asians, women, others in attendance and
had to walk on eggs in order to not "OFFEND" one in the group?
I have many times. Rather than speaking freely and openly showing how
you truly think of an issue, you have to be halting in your speech or thought.
It has crept into the culture slowly, just like every other liberal plan.

Example: Gay/lesbian seems to be a badge of honor now. I don't have any animosity towards them,
as long as they don't throw it in my face, an example is Rosie O'Donut, Ellen DeGenerate.
The liberal agendas are plentiful if you just stop and analyze the last 25 years.
A big change has taken place, and not for the better I'm afraid.

This forum gets a staggering volume of replies, far more than we mods can keep up with. When we don’t immediately pull certain out-of-bounds items, it is often not (as people sometimes assume) that we approve of them, but simply that no one has told us of their existence.

He is right, there is no one that can moderate as well as a live FReeper currently on line. Also I have seen posters get reprimanded by other posters plenty of times for stupid out of line comments. Keep up the good work veteran FReepers.

I know I will get flogged for this, but I think BOR is best ignored. By appearing on his show, you gave credit to him that he does not deserve, I can not understand why anyone would even watch his show.
