For once I wish the poll had included the option “Ron Paul,” as well as the “Anyone but Ron Paul” option. I’m interested in how many of the “None of the above” category meant the only unlisted candidate still running, i.e. Paul, and how many were Freepers mentally writing in others, be it Fred, Duncan or someone more creative. I suspect the Paulians are less than half the “None of the above” but can’t prove that.

Since the candidates left are mods and libs
Do a write in for your primaries and have a brokered convention.
That is the way they use to be until the media started picking our candidates.

The most amazing result of the current polling is that “Anyone but Mitt” finished last with only 14 Freepers and 7 non-members taking that stand. There’s a lot of anti-Mitt postings on this board for so few votes. All I can guess is that many anti-Mitt types must also be anti-some one else and thus chose “None of the above” as the energy they display makes it unlikely they’d pass on voting here.

I will never vote for anyone who is not strong on defense or fighting our enemies. Dr. Paul is neither.

How is it that Huck gets beat up and Romney gets a free pass? At least Huck has been a consistent conservative on social issues and hasn’t flip flopped as much. Huck has only modified his stances, not completely changed them to get elected. I would hope that after all these years, Freepers would remain true to their convictions.

Romney is purty and has a big fat wallet. He's dreamy, dontcha know.

Considering what happened to the last guy we “all supported”...

does anyone really CARE????

Fred was clearly the best choice.. for most of us.

But not for enough of those people actually voting for him in the primaries.

Your Hayley Barbour tagline reminds me of an expansion /alternate reality version of the game civilization III, where you got to defend the continental United States against invasion by Russia, Mexico, Cuba, Iraq and China. The default president in the scenario?

Alan Keyes.

It was a blast to play. Of course, I had to use lots of nuclear weapons in-country to win, the radioactive cleanup took me the remainder of the game and beyond.

If you once were for abortion you can NEVER EVER change?
Bull shiite! Do any of you anti Mitt people believe he will appoint a judge that is in favor? This is a northeat thing people. In America above the Mason Dixon Line you can only be just so Republican and win. Below you can only be just so rat and win. While there are exceptions that’s general rule. This does mean that Mitt will give us another ruth buzzi ginsberg.

LOL - great cartoon!

If Mitt's the nominee, I'll pull the lever for him

If it's McCain, then I'll just stand there and pull my hair out.

I’m not going anywhere until I vote. I say keep them guessing and working for my vote. And, after the candidate is chosen, I will not be working for him. I will simply be working against the other side. Same as in ‘04.

Don’t believe everything you read. I happen to know firsthand that there were moles in FRed’s staff trying to undermine his campaign.

That’s where all these false rumors were coming from.

I'm with you as far as the brokered convention, but there's another way to get there besides a write-in campaign, and that's by spreading the delegates around among various candidates. Since Mitt is presently the leader and seems likely to gain the most from Fred's having dropped out, that means voting for a candidate other than Mitt who has a real shot at denying him a particular state's delegates but no shot at all of winning the delegates needed to secure the nomination prior to the convention.

In my state, New York, that would mean Rudy.
