A A A (resize font) Bringing a federal hate crime charge against a neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot Trayvon Martin will be "a challenge, to put it lightly," the victim's lawyer said.
Daryl Parks, an attorney for the Martin family, told board members of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) on Saturday that prosecution on the state level stands a better chance.

Funny how the “Hate Crime” statute only applies one way; also, it is a way to end run the double jeopardy clause in the Constitution and should’ve been thrown out years ago.

So if your killed in the projects you can’t sue but in a gated communitMy you can? Maybe we should gate the projects, for fairness.
When the dust settles, there may not be any state charges either. Many black pundits, leaders and race baiters have said anything less than murder charges, will not be enough.
Just check out the Hazleton, PA verdict. The jury OF PEERS acquitted and a hate crime handpicked jury of Federal submissisories found the victims guilty. Yes, I said victims. Of the PC dual judicial system.
Why bother? He’s already been tried and convicted by the media and politicians.
I don’t know how reporters sleep at night. They don’t “report” news, they make it. They foment hate and anger throughout America and are destroying our justice system.

Eventually, some media guy will screw up and announce that George is Latino on national TV. At that point, the value of this episode rapidly goes down fast.
Note, here in DC last summer, we had a Latino taxi driver shoot a black guy...over a broomstick left on the side of the road. The black guy had a landscaping business that he’d started up (one-man operation)...was cleaning the mess that he’d made by the yard, and left the broom by the street. The taxi guy stops....thinking that the broom was dropped by a vehicle. An argument arises over what the taxi guy was going to do. The landscaping guy confronts the taxi guy (Latino), and the taxi guy pulls out a gun from his vehicle....shooting the landscaper.
No one will utter hate crime in this case....but it was obvious that the taxi guy went from 0 to 60 in a few seconds...when being confronted by an unarmed landscaper guy. Very similar situation....moments to think clearly and just react...in the wrong way.

Nothing will take away the tragedy and horror of the death of the young man.
Can't we at least recognize that getting even for his death by reviving the 1960s cries of "Take Ten!" is not the appropriate thing to do?
Most important vis-a-vis the appropriate action, the killer likely had no racial animosity but acted stupidly; he should be punished like any similar case.
.. but it is the radicals, black and white, who do say don't let a crisis go to waste . . . .
Mr. Martin was at best an unregistered guest and at worst a trespasser on private property the night he was killed.
Mr. Zimmerman was NOT acting in his capacity as a volunteer watchman, but was out performing a personal errand in his vehicle when he spotted Martin and called police.

Rats are obviously focusing on this to motivate Obama’s black voter base.

Wasn’t the owner of the home in this gated subdivision where Trayvon Martin was staying Trayvon’s dad? Or was he staying as a guest of some other individual homeowner?
