If You Live in a Blue State, Here Is What You Can Do To Help Romney Beat Obama
Sept. 14, 2012 | Ziva

Posted on 09/14/2012 6:54:13 AM PDT by Ziva

No matter where you live in the USA, you can make a difference in this election by going to http://www.mittromney.com/call-home-landing.

I live in NY, a hopelessly blue state. There is very little I can do locally to help Romney. However, they have an excellent phone-from-home system this year, much better than other phone banks I've done before.

I started making phone calls from home for Romney. It is easy, well-supported, and free. It is important to start now so they can target the right people for the campaign. You can get started at http://www.mittromney.com/call-home-landing

They will direct your calls to the states where they need the most help, so don't worry about calling out-of-state. There are no long-distance charges because the system calls you first to enable you to make the calls to others.

I sat on my hands last election and didn't work because I didn't like McCain. (Of course, I voted.) Even though Romney was not my first choice, another Obama win would be disasterous. Please pass this on to all your political friends. The calls made now help identify voters who can be moved to vote for Romney.

My goal is to make at least 10,000 calls. That comes out to about 200 calls a day which can be done in less than three hours. They really make it quick and easy. I do not want to be partly responsible for 0bama getting reelected.

No one should feel that if he or she can make just 100 calls, it is not worth the effort. EVERY effort helps and WILL make a difference. If you can call only one hour a week, then you WILL have done your part.

I do want to remind of the the reality of phone-banking. Some people will be hostile or rude, may hang up brusquely, insult you, or try to engage you in time-wasting arguments. Just end the call politely and move on to the next call. Do not be discouraged by these calls.

There is a place for notes for each call. If the person is a Romney voter, I ask if they need help getting to the poll or need an absentee ballot and put that information in the note field. If an undecided voter tells me what campaign issue is important to him, I note that as well.

Your important work will show the campaign all undecided voters that can be influenced with campaign materials, and all Romney voters for a get-out-the-vote (GOTV) effort at the end of the campaign.

Many of us are suffering in this bad economy and can donate little money to this campaign. If you do have the money to donate, please do. However, my point is that we all can donate some time to help, and it is as good as money to a campaign.

If you are in red or purple state, then I hope you get involved with the local Romney campaign. You can still use spare time at home to make phone calls.

If you are in a blue state, then please join me in doing what you can from home with phone calls.

Next, please pass this on to your friends everywhere. Let's create an army of workers bigger than the unions do for the Dems. And please let me know personally if this helped you get started working on the campaign.

As imperfect as McCain is, I don’t think he would’ve given us Sotomayor, Kagin or anything like Obamacare.

Probably true. Although he did vote for the judicial appointments.

I think he did so because he is a traditionalist, which is not how Supreme Court Justices should be confirmed. I don’t think they or their ilk would’ve made it to his short list, however.

If you call for him, do they give you a “script” of what to say or do you have to ad lib it?

I’m not good at verbal ad libbing.

"Get us a few more!"

There is a chance that the people who changed as a result of my effort may change or recruit someone else. I am trying to make people realize what can be done if they would recruit JUST ONE NEW VOTER-- JUST ONE!

How about you?

Yes, they do give you a very short script. A greeting, then a few questions. It is very easy and convenient.

I'd love to help in this way but I'm fearful of doing more harm than good.If confronted by a scumbag Commie on the other end of the phone I just might lose my cool and say something stupid. However, something just occurred to me...I could go up to New Hampshire (a battleground state) on election day and drive folks to the polls.I suspect that they'd need folks like that.I think I'll give a call tomorrow.

BTTT.

You are correct...both parties are helping the socialist progressives now. Some people on FR are still living in lala-land about these matters or they are consciously complicit.

As for the airheads just cheering for a team color or letter...it's impossible to reason with them once they want to pretend, like good little kiddies, that they stand for something, when they stand for exactly nothing.

Let them have their little snit..it won't help them or the Country.

Thanks again for your service.

You don't have to worry about saying the wrong thing on the phone. This is the time to find and identify the voters. I'm working on NH, too. If you have time to make calls, just look at it as part of a mission to develop the NH volunteer team and win NH. If someone is voting for The One, just note it and we won't waste our time on him any more.

Just so you know, I walk the walk, not just talk the talk. I've made 1600 calls in six days. It is all I can do right now, but it should help. Even if you can only make 100 calls, you are providing a vital service.

Or maybe they will fight Obama. With Romney, the GOP Congress might go 110% socialist.

How will they fight Obama? If he wins, he won't have to worry about re-election, he'll have the MSM covering for him, and he'll use executive orders to get what he wants and the GOP won't have the votes to stop him.

Romney wasn't my first choice. In fact, I spent plenty to get someone else nominated. But next year, our President will either be Romney or Obama. For me, Obama isn't an option, especially after what he's shown me the past few months, so I'm voting ABO and hoping a Conservative Congress will keep him focused on fixing the economy. As I see it, that's about the best we can hope for.p

RE> I guraantee you that if Obama is re-elected there will be an economic collapse that will cause severe social unrest.

I greatly suspect there to be some form of collapse regardless of who wins. One wants it to happen and will make it as painful as possible, the other would like to avoid it or make it as short as possible.

The impact of the social unrest part greatly depends on which is elected. It could be minimal, it could be a `big effing deal`.

All we have to do is get out the vote any way we can.

About that “p” at the end of my last post to you, I don’t know why that keeps happening, but I didn’t mean anything by it.

I’m with you, but I’m voting for Johnson. I think it may prove helpful in the future to have the Libertarian Party retain it’s “major party” status.

I’m glad you asked. Your phone number never appears because the phone bank company calls YOU at home. They make an in-state caller ID appear on each call. I actually use my Skype phone number into my cell phone (costs me no cell phone minutes) because I have a great headset for my cell phone.

“...severe social unrest.”

Seems to me we had some of that back around 1861.

Well, if Romney has already written off your state, and is just using it as a piggy bank or a pool of phone callers, you might as well vote for an actual conservative:
