Trump Loses Zero Ground After Fox’s Unfair, Unbalanced Attack In Debate
Breitbart ^ | August 7, 2015 | by Alex Swoyer

CLEVELAND, Ohio: A Wall Street Journal report suggests that despite critics’ opinions predicting GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s poll numbers would fall, two early – though unscientific – polls predict that may be wrong.

“Time Magazine found that Mr. Trump took 47% of nearly 55,000 votes. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) of Florida was in second place with just 10%. The Drudge Report’s poll found more than half of nearly 362,000 voters favored Mr. Trump, well above everyone else,” the Wall Street Journal noted.

After Frank Luntz’s made his opinion on Trump’s performance suggesting “tonight his act wore thin,” conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh stood up for Trump, and instead went after Fox News’ performance.

“I have never seen this kind of public backlash against Fox News personalities since the network launched in 1997,” the radio legend stated.

Even Bloomberg Politics went after Fox News host Megyn Kelly for her questioning comparing it to “something Rachel Maddow would ask.”

Would I vote for Trump? No. Do I support his run, Yes. He is bringing alot to the race—issues, Ideas, national problems. He should be given a chance to address these issues—He isn’t a pinata to beat. But, mark my worrds, if and when Trump goes—they will target Cruz with the same vicious attacks—on his religion and stands.

Well, speak of the devil. PPP just tweeted this:

"It will take a while for the Trump stuff to sort itself out but one thing very clear in our polling last night- Fiorina moving into top tier"

Now, I could be reaching here, but doesn't this sound like they didn't get the anti-Trump bump they expected???

They already did. Lost in all of the Trump hoopla, Near the end of the debate Thursday night, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly asked conservative Republican Sen. Ted Cruz if he'd had "any word from God."

Good catch, and your analysis is very likely correct.

They appear to be trying to take the wind out of Trump’s sails by not publishing numbers, yet.

I already find myself channel surfing again after years of Fox only viewing. I’m disappointed as it was so obvious moderators didn’t moderate but went the gotcha route at the pleasure of establishment types. And then to hear the Megyn was invited in place of trump the proof hit home. Brett and Megyn both should be ashamed of themselves.

I believe FOX lost a great deal of credibility with conservative viewers after Thursdays "debate". Once it's gone I don't think it will ever fully return. My first reaction to the opening question was shock and disappointment. I tuned in to see a debate and all I saw was gotcha politics.

Anyone that would cast a vote for Trump over Cruz is either ignorant or a coward (probably both).

We are still nearly six months away before the first primary votes are cast. It makes no sense to get all worked up over who may vote for whom half a year from now.

Let's look at the big picture. No matter how you feel about Trump, his presence in the race has thrown a major money wrench into the usual GOP machinations. That is, set up a circular firing squad that eliminates all the non-establishment candidates so that the safest, most plain vanilla choice can advance to the nomination.

We've seen this with Romney, McCain, GWB, Dole, Bush Sr...non of them bastions of conservatism.

The establishment GOP had their world rocked in 1980. They had Bush Sr. selected and did not take Reagan that seriously in the beginning because of his age and the fact that they felt he was damaged goods due to his divorce, his previous career as "B" movie actor and that he would be seen as "too extreme" for most Americans.

When Reagan won anyway, the establishment GOP since has taken pains to take any non-establishment candidate out early.

With Trump, they are learning that they cannot so easily run him off the rails. He's got his own money and he appears immune to the kind of attacks that would cause just about any other candidate to fold his tent and blow away.

So while the conventional media and establishment GOP are focused on how to deal with Trump, the other more conservative candidates in the race are being left alone and they are beginning to resonate with voters. Due to the fact that Thursday night's debate was dedicated to destroying Trump, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina were able to shine and get themselves noticed in a favorable way.

If not for Trump, you can bet that those "gotcha" questions would have been targeted directly to Ted Cruz.

That is the good that has come of this, I never thought Faux News was conservative at all, now other conservatives are waking up to this fact.

Perhaps but time will tell if FOX becomes the new MSNBC or not.

I respectfully disagree with you. I love Ted Cruz too but I sincerely believe if Trump does not win this thing, and destroy the elites, we will NEVER be able to nominate and win with a candidate such as Ted Cruz. Let Donald Trump fight this snakepit/cesspool, so that we can clean it up. WE have to get the elite socialists/globalists out of the way so that in the next 2-3 election cycles we can get people like Ted Cruz in who will restore our constitutional republic. Ted Cruz can't win right now but I think Trump just might be able to. He is not my perfect candidate right now either, but I think he is just exactly what we need. And please keep in mind that a lot of the people you and I like and admire, do like Donald Trump. That should count for something, don't you think?

Fox is doubling down by rebroadcasting the debate again tonight.

I guess that they want to lose more viewers.

Great analysis. That’s pretty much the conclusion I came to weeks ago when I said I was dropping Cruz for Trump. People called me a liberal. Oh well. What you gonna do. Trump/Cruz 2016.

“Trump is irrelevant. If he weren’t in this race, Cruz would have over 30% right now.”

Insightful you are not. Did you even think over for one moment what you just said here? First you say Trump is irrelevant. Then in the next breath you say if Trump (with his high poll numbers, double anyone else’s) weren’t in the race, Cruz would have higher numbers. Well, then I guess Trump isn’t so irrelevant, is he, lol. GEEZ, love your total lack of logic.

There are now many such illogical statements from parksstp in just this thread, alone.

For someone who claims to be an NCO, MBA, and (by now) an attorney, he's really showing he's got flaky, flighty, tendencies.

Exactly. They are calculating they can get more mileage by promoting Hillary-in-RINO drag. They so want a Carly-Hillary matchup; wishful thinking on their part.

> “Whatever his intentions were, she got the opportunity to get her ***message*** about Hillary out, and she did.”

It’s not the ***message***, it’s the ***messenger***.

Fiorina is but one of millions that could have gotten the ‘message’ out about Hillary. Fiorina is not unique nor is she talented. There are tens of thousands of writers that can write a conservative sounding script that serves as red meat to conservatives.

Fiorina is a fraud. She is also a paid for shill by the establishment.

And if you really want to know her character, just search her reputation at HP. She was fired, she stiffed people, did not keep her promises, arranged for her to siphon off more than $100 million without merit. She’s Hillary with a conservative script writer.

Rand Paul is exactly the same as Fiorina. They could be fraternal twins. Want to see evidence of Paul’s weasel like corruption? Here you go:

https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2015/04/rand-paul-leads-effort-to-block-senate-fraud-investigation

And when you do your homework on Fiorina you will find the same type of character defects only in a different setting.

These frauds are banking on people like you who don’t pay attention to the details and only hear their scripted ‘message’. I don’t blame people like you because there’s too much information to digest and the narrative scripts for these frauds are written by writers skilled in the art of seduction. In my case I have learned to not take to heart anything a person says, but rather what they do and what they have done. I am always willing to give people a pass on past performance as long as I see current performance and solid reasoning for how things will be different in the future.

Ted Cruz lays out perfectly what all the above is describing in this few minutes of audio:

So Trump has 3.1 million more than (taking it to the people) Saint Cruz.

Trump could lose 3 million and still have more than the Saint.

Paul and Rubio have more too

Ben Carson isn't far behind and outside of Trump he's gained the most followers. Carson gained more than 3 times what (the great debater) Cruz gained and only trails by less than 2,000 or 4%.

Cruz would do much better if you didn't have to look at him or watch him ...He took it to the people and they either didn't care too much about what they heard and or what the saw. Carson on the other hand...

I think people should give some serious considerations to their fear of a third party. I know that every third party has been founded for this reason, and has usually failed, HOWEVER, a third party would give both Republicans and Democrats permission to vote for Trump.

There are probably many Republicans who would never vote for a Democrat and many Democrats/Independents/Libertarians who would never vote for a Republican......but they ALL might be willing to vote for a third party that represented a fresh start, a party dedicated to Americans working together for the good of the country and leaving the bitterness and hostility aside. I know this sounds unrealistic in the extreme, but think of what an effect this could have on the malaise this country is in.
