I never thought I'd see the day when Freepers let the lying leftist media lead them around by the nose.
I am a Cruz supporter. I also like Trump and Carson.
Politico is doing a massive distortion smear on Carson, typical of the leftist media machine. They are very sophisticated at using lies and distortion and making it seem based on truth and objective analysis.
If one wants to accept the leftist narrative and run with the leftist pack because it feels god, so be it.
Yet don't cry when the same is done to Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, and it will be done to these two.
“You might yourself ask how you could let Donald Trump turn you into a person just like him.”
This line says it all. You are a Trump hater, and it shows bigtime. And you are backing a loser (to use a little Trump lingo) in Carson, who, it appears, is a liar, just like Herman Cain lied about his affair, until his Mistress appeared on TV saying that their affair had been going on for years. So, you keep backing Carson, until the truth on him continues to comes out, and it won’t be pretty.

I have no recollection of Cain “half-confessing.” What I remember is that he backed out because of his wife. And the only comparison I am making between the two men - Thomas - are their race and their conservatism. Whether African-American men are good or bad, as long as they are conservative, they will be destroyed.

So, if, after doing some further reading on this and figuring out what actually happened, are you going to come back with a mea culpa?
Because what you think happened here, didn’t. Get your facts straight before you call an honest man a liar, and especially don’t blame a man for lying about military service when he did no such thing.
What I find interesting is Trump supporters glee since they forget Trump flawed personal & business history. If they think Carson is toast then so is Trump due to his history

But that's just it. I read Carson's original writing on this. He never said he was admitted to West Point. Here's the key quote:
(ROTC Sgt. Hunt) "introduced me to General Westmoreland, and I had dinner with him and the Congressional Medal winners. Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point."
You're right, one cannot misinterpret an admittance. You either got the letter, or you didn't. But "offered", well, a young Carson could have inferred that as part of some larger conversation.
The ironic thing here is that I don't like Carson as a candidate, not at all. He's unqualified to be POTUS. But in this case I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
The only “defense” I’ve seen here is to consider the source and be sure that the lie was in fact a lie before passing judgment. It looks that way to me (like an intentional lie), but since it came from Politico, it is suspect.
Yes, but the upside is that the cabal of Trump supporters here who shout down every Carson supporter are suddenly finding that there are a few more of us who respect Dr. Carson than they thought.
Plus, they’re revealing a lot about their willingness to believe the MSM they usually accuse of being a pack of consistent liars when it becomes convenient to do so.
No reason for a mea culpa. Unless you’ve applied to a service academy and gone through the process, don’t lecture me on the process because you’re the one who’s ignorant about it. I read the story and Carson’s response as well as the Army’s response and it’s obvious Ben embellished the whole story. There’s not even evidence that Westmoreland met with Ben when he said he did. So yes, Carson lied about it.
Yes we do. All of us. I’m a Cruz supporter and have only decried Fiorona, Christie and Jeb, I figure the rest will sort themselves.
I’m a Trump supporter and I think all this today is despicable. Now, Trump will take on this story, undoubtedly, because he wants to make gains in Iowa. But he will do it with his usual humor that often takes the sting out of the attacks.

Wake up and know what you are talking about before posting your comments. There are all sorts of articles about Cain’s mistress and women he tried to get it on with from the time when Cain was running for Prez. Put your specs on.

Okay, series implies at least three. First, you list his three lies (I’d settle for two, actually, because you can’t do it) and then we’ll discuss it and see who’s doing the smearing, because when you buy into the smear you become a part of the smear.

Considering the source quoted directly from Carson's book where he claimed he turned the admission down then I didn't have any problems accepting it.
I’ve taken shots at Fiorini and Jeb - as have most freepers. They’re annoying! But I knew that Carson would eventually become the subject of a witchhunt. I just knew it and here it is on our doorstep. As I’ve written, when will the girl or dead boy show up?
There's a big difference between vetting and buying a lie in order to push your guy.
