Actually, it really is a rebellion
February 10, 2016 | Jim Robinson

As much as I love Cruz as a conservative, there really is a voter rebellion underway and it may be unstoppable. Despite all the denials, the simple truth is the voters really are fed-up and really are up in arms against the establishment.

Trump's message is exactly what the voters are looking for:

Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all, slap a moratorium on Muslim immigration, bomb the hell out of ISIS, cut the taxes, cut the spending, cut the regulations, cut the government, cut the bad trade deals, cut the political correctness crap, bring back capital, bring back manufacturing, bring back jobs, get the economy back on track, rebuild the military so no one messes with us and make America great again!

It's a winning message.

The rallies are real.

The pent up anger is real.

The rebellion is real!

GOPe RINOs Bush, Rubio, Kasich, et al, stand no chance whatsoever.

We still have hope for conservative Cruz to pull it out, but this is Trump's Rebellion to lose.

Go, Cruz, GO!!

Go, Trump, GO!!

Either way, we win, they lose.

I think he is all talk and will not set out to do anything he says.

But doesn't that apply to all of our politicians? When was the last time we elected a politician who actually did what he promised to do?

At least Trump has a private sector history of doing what he says he will do. For example, getting that NYC skating rink built on time and under budget.

My biggest concern is that the bitter feud that broke out in Iowa between the CRUZERS and TRUMPSTERS is going to be so brutal in South Carolina that irreparable damage will be done. I don't see how we can win without each other. If we kill off Cruz or Trump, “we the people,” both Conservatives and Nationalists, lose to a GOPE GLOBALIST because that's what they all are...I hope there is a way to fix this dilemma or we are inevitably going down in defeat.

“I still wonder what the catalyst was that sent Trump over the edge to make this run.”

I think it’s a no-brainer. He doesn’t want to see his beautiful grandchildren raised under Sharia law. And he wants to see the business he built to remain healthy for decades for his family.

Who knows the day it dawned on him that nobody was doing anything about it? When he did, he realized he had the resources to at least try to help save the country.

IMHO

A third party vote is giving away a vote AGAINST the Democrats. I despise them more than Trump.

“And in 4 years, the conservative movement could try again.”

Where have you been?!? If we don’t win in 2016, there won’t be anything left of America in four years. Cruz can’t beat any Dem.

I don’t care about the “conservative brand” any more. I only care about saving America. Forget about the tags and parties.

Imagine if you will: Ted Cruz, U.S. Attorney General.

Attorney General serves at the pleasure of the President and, as such, follows policies set by the administration. Such a position would not likely be appealing to Senator Cruz. It is more a crony position than a law enforcement one.

Would like that quite a bit as well! Might be harder though to get the Senate to move him into that position. VP would be totally within the nominee’s control.

With regard to VP choice, if Trump or Cruz, it is imperative that they do not choose an establishment person as VP. They should learn from Reagan’s mistake. He wanted Laxalt but bowed to establishment pressure and chose Bush. Just think were we’d be if there were no Bushes?

You are dreaming Cruz CAN NOT win the general it will take time to turn this ship around!!! It has taken the DEMS 40 years to get where they are now, I LOVE Cruz however the general electorate will NEVER accept him today!!!!

No, you are dreaming.

Look, I'm a constitutional conservative and active politically. The rest of the extended Sideshow Bob family (approximately 65 voting age family members) are socially conservative Midwestern individuals who passively vote Republican because all Democrats are lying, godless, liberal socialist babykillers. While some acknowledge that the Establishment always wins and holds society down, few believe that any candidate - including Cruz - will act to change it.

Over the holidays, politics were discussed. Their general consensus was a preference for either Cruz or Rubio because they liked the beliefs they espoused. A few liked Ben Carson because they thought he was nice.

But NO ONE - not a single person among the 65 - liked Trump. They didn't find him motivating. They didn't find him believable or likable. Other common descriptive terms for Trump included:

Arrogant
Salesman
Mean
Ignorant
Repulsive

Many commented that if Trump is the GOP nominee, they wouldn't vote this year. A few joked they would move to Costa Rica if Trump were elected president.

My point is: they all felt this way - not because they believed Trump to be a faux conservative - but because they believed Trump to be a repugnant individual.

It is Trump who will never win a general election. And even if Trump should win the GOP nomination, he will do so with a plurality of the vote in every state GOP primary. Except for maybe New York (and we all know about New York values, lol).

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

H.L. Mencken

Ballot box, jury box, cartridge box. We have a flag we like better than the black one, which is why we keep trying the first two. But I can be persuaded...

That bothers me to no end, especially here at FR. I will support our nominee that the majority of GOP voters support and pray that fences will be mended between the both camps of supporters. I do take heart that for once, the GOPe is NOT being successful so far in picking our candidate for us. It IS abut We the People.

As I just said on another thread, there’s going to be a big steaming pile of crap to clean up after Barry. We’re going to need a hard charger, well versed in law to do the job.

After that, Chief Justice sounds good.

It’s just that, right now, I don’t think Ted has the executive skills. I like the guy, i really do, I like them both. I think we need both. But we all have our roles to play.

Trump is the visionary. He’ll work with the architects and engineers and tell them what he wants, and once finalized, leaves it to them to get it done.

Ted’s the legal engineer. We’re gonna need a good one. A lot of people need to go to jail. Starting with Hillary.

I agree Jim. I will go with Sarah’s judgement and support Trump. Cruz if it comes down to it.
