Should Trump and Cruz unite with we the people against the establishment uni-party?

Posted on 03/16/2016 1:31:00 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us (the majority of the right-leaning grassroots voters), end any possibility of a GOPe betrayal at the convention, and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the grassroots people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. It’d be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.

And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And finally begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism and globalism.

A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.

Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.

So let’s quit bickering, join forces, and make it happen.

If there is a contested convention, they can do it then.

Doing so now robs Trump of a choice of VP

It also robs us of a contest to have a properly vetted candidate

What do you mean? Rubio just dropped out. We don’t know how that will affect the race. But I always said both Rubio and Kasich have to drop out before Cruz can start out-earning Trump. Trump’s got a solid base around 40% that means two other candidates with any kind of a base will split the vote and help Trump win.

I said Rubio had to drop out before this week for Cruz to have a shot at winning 1237. He didn’t, and Cruz lost Missouri by a tiny margin. Almost the entire South would’ve been Cruz’s if Rubio hadn’t split the vote with him.

I don’t see where Cruz is so devisive to the general electorate other than maybe coming across as too religious to secular voters.

Jan Brewer would be a smart pick. Tough on immigration, and likely would help with female swing voters.

Also has a strong pro-life record and A+ NRA rating.

Too far fetched. They would have to explain that and it would likely turn off voters.

He won? I never heard that. More likely the person bringing the case to court was found to not have standing, which is not winning. Hillary would have standing.

I say, TAKE THE DEAL.

The only thing I would add is that Trump has to offer the deal before Cruz can take it. Cruz could offer to make Trump his VP but he can't offer to make himself Trump's VP.

The trouble is, Cruz has never been anything but a Bush operative with the “Bush” label covered with duct tape. But the tape has been peeling off recently.

This would be the best way to put the stop on the GOPe. It would also be the best thing for the country.

Otherwise we will get a goober like Kasich or Ryan.

Yes sir! I think Trump will make an excellent vice president!

Of course, if the two do unite, watch Mitch and the scum hold SCOTUS confirmation hearings for 0bama’s commie pick for the court just to get even with We The People.

Don’t know what a contested convention is, do you?

You mean brokered, and Cruz isn’t in favor of one.

I might be wrong, that happened once or twice before. But I think Carly is Cruz’s Trump play, announce during the race, get a boatload of press, and with GOP now in, unlimited funds to put out their word.

Then with Kasich’s damage, they get to a convention which is fine with Cruz. He’s so damn gullible he thinks he’ll be the nominee if they knock Trump out because he’ll be 2nd. Fact is, the establishment will declare Cruz inelgible and go with their pick.

Cruz has studied Trump and thinks he has the play down pat, we’ll see.

In a lot of ways it would be nice, but I don’t know how Trump does it after insisting Ted is an illegal Canadian.

Are you kidding?!? Trump has no problem reversing himself.

I don’t like this idea. Cruz would hurt Trump in the general election.

I just republished the article at Warsclerotic, a conservative site in Israel. The other editors and I are pro-Trump.

A deal would only need to be made before the convention. I don’t see it happening before the rest of the states east of the Mississippi are done with their primaries.
